I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
I love highland books, and let me tell you, I have no idea what this book is about because I counldn't get pass the horrible narration. Narration can really kill a good book. The voice of Hawk was way too over done. I get Hawk was supposed to be this great and powerful guy, but really, using such a forced baratone voice over did it. Then all the women voices was like listening to a man make fun a woman. Like how boys pick on girls and taunt them in funny female voice. Yes, Narration killed this book. I bet the story was probably good, but I didn't even get into because the voices was sooo outlandish.
Now, the story did manage to listen to was so confusing. First, why in the world would the MAGIC King bring a female from another century back in time just to punish Hawk. How would making him fall in love be a punishment? Second, there are too many kings! A mortal king that hates Hawk, plus the Magic King that hates Hawk too,... So confusing. Lastly, when the girl, I can't even remember her name, is brought back in time... Why is the King mean and mad to her. If she is suppose to replace his daughter, that he killed, shouldn't he be nice. I don't get it...
It dosen't matter, the narration was so bad that I could never piece anything together. Please save your credit for something worth it. THis is not worth the credit.
I love to listen to audiobooks. It is great when the narrators get into the story and really bring the characters to life.
I loved this book and Phil Gigante has such a sexy voice. I can't believe anyone would not drool at his wonderful Scottish accent! I have listened to this book more than 10 times and I will no doubt listen to it again.
I was pleasantly surprised by how interesting this book was. It is your classical Gothic type love story. Mysterious and suspenseful as well.If this is the type of romance you like you will not be disappointed. Very well narrated.
I love the "Outlander" series. This story was similar, but different in many ways. It was an enjoyable read.
The idea of being able to travel back to the past and the idea of true love.
When she comes back from the future.
I like the story OK--though not the best I've ever read.
I liked the parts where she is learning about her "Laird." The least interesting was the parts about the gardens etc.
I like is brogue--very well done. Unfortunately he really does not do female parts well at all--too artificial sounding. I wish there had been male and female readers. Phil is great when he does all the male roles!
I'm only 85% finished with the book--sort of lost interest. Maybe it will pick up.
I would! If you like fictional romances, this one is a must read.
When Adrianne disappeared and reappeared talking with Hawk's mother.
The love scenes.
Adrienne leading his troops to battle.
