Fantasy & Sci-Fi lover who mostly refuses to read books without their audiobook counterparts. How else can a girl get any housework done?
Absolutely! Actually, I already have recommended this to several of my friends and they loved it! The storyline is intriguing and I love Mac and Barrons! I found that these books get better and better. The story is slightly slow-building, so stick with it. You won't regret it.
All the other books of the FEVER series and the spin-off called ICED. Honestly, I can't think of anything that I can truly compare this to. Yes, there are other books out there about the Fae, but this story is absolutely unique in its own right.
This is the only negative thing I can say about this audiobook. Joyce Bean is not right for Mac or this series. Her voice for Barrons is terrible. She makes him sound like a creepy old leprechaun. I found that I eventually got used to her voice though, so it didn't bother me after a while. The good thing is, you only have to deal with her as a narrator for one more book. After that, they bring Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante on board as narrators for the rest of the series and holy cow, they are simply outstanding!
I had many laugh out loud moments, mostly because of Barrons. :)
No, I really really disliked how the narrator portrayed the male characters voices. Jericho Barrons is supposed to be this hot, strong, masculine man every woman fantasizes about...the fantasy died with Joyce Beans version of his voice. I'm still pushing forward because Phil Gigante is in the last two books.
So far Jericho Barrons, he's mysterious, strong, smart...what's not to love about him?
OMG It could have been a million times better with Phil Gigante doing the mail voices. I would purchase this audio book and listen all over again if Phil Gigante narrated the mens voices.
I started out listening to ICED and fell in love with Natale Ross and Phil Gigante. This narrator was a disappointment but knowing Natalie and Phil are narrating in the last couple and hopefully all future, books, I'm willing to listen to the story.
i loved everything about the story, just not the narrator.
i guess i would compare it to the other books in the fever series. i dont think i could compare these books to any others, it is a very unique storyline.
the narrator's voice, accents, and intonation were not right for the characters. she sounded too old, and her voice for barrons sounded like an old lady which kind of ruined the story. the performance would have been better with a male and female narration like the audio cds were done.
The story kept my interest up. I was wondering what would happen next.
When Barrons finally came for Mac in the caves was my most memorable moment. He helped Mac eat the unsellie and she magically was healed and then finally got rid of that make believe vampire.
Fake southern accent
Great story regardless of the reader's over to top accent. Book 2 is also read by Joyce Bean but the rest are read by Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante. Loved them!
When Mac decided that eating an unseelie was a must do.
I followed all the highlander series books and this was just the next step up. Tied in the previous series subtly yet nicely! Great Job! Quick Read
Great addition to the series. Couldnt stop listening to it. Joyce Bean does a great job with the different character voices. Wish she was around for books 4 & 5
I'm an avid reader, and a newly avid listener. I work alot of hours and books are my escape, whether on paper or audio!!
I enjoyed this book, and the development of the characters. I am not a fan of Joyce Bean as a narrator.....her male voices.....*shakes head* I love in the later books when Phil Gigante lends his talented vocal chords to the male voices.
The storyline really starts to take off, and you get to meet many characters who you will see throughout. I definitely recommend "Bloodfever!"
Just keeps getting better!
These are unique,no comparison can be made!
The narrators flaws do not distract from this great story line
"Fever Series" Unseelie vs Seelie
Yes, because I love the story!
None, its very best
Never! She doesnt do a very good job at different mens voices they all sound the same and it sounds very fake. Her accents were ok but still not to the point I could get past hearing them sounded natural.. It distracted me from the story.
No I like to spread it over a couple days
For how many mens voices are in this story they would have been smart to have a man narrate this book. or a woman / man combo.. since its from a womans perspective.
