WOW!I am loving this series by Kim Harrison. The plot just keeps on thickening making you want to keep on listening to find out what in the Under World is going to happen next. What an awesome plot, what great character's.You get some funny, some mystery, mayhem, madness with a hint of romance.Rachel is the new an improved "Sherry Potter".I'm on my 3rd book in a row.I can't get enough.Look forward to finding out all the juicy details & secrets in this series.Have fun to any one who reads her series.I am:)
I enjoyed this book due to the relationship to NKY and Cincinnati. Witches, vamps and were's great!
Jinxs, He's hilarious
The final battle
I really enjoyed the first book but this one was a huge disappointment. I kept starting, then lose interest, start again, but in the end I just couldn't pick it up anymore. Rachel's whining was getting on my nerves. The thing with her roommate Ivy is plain stupid. It sounds like an abusive relationship with Rachel blaming herself for Ivy attacking her. Really? Don't see why they are friends. I really can't stand stupid people and Rachel keeps doing the stupidest things. I don't think I can continue with this series. I don't like being annoyed with the main characters of the books I read. The only good thing about this book was the narrator. I'm sorry I wasted a credit.
Say something about yourself!
I am just in love with this series. It is exciting, funny, and unpredictable. I would give the narrator 10 stars if I could. She is AWESOME!! I love Jenks and all his Pixie antics. I would recommend this series to anyone!
I've always loved books. Even before I could read I've loved them. Fact or Fiction, I love books. I'd sooner read a book than see a movie.
I enjoyed the relationships between the characters. The sparing of great wit, acid barbs, and deadly spells make this book fun and exciting.
Yes, the plot was sparked in the first book and plays out nicely until the very end.
I loved Ivy, she really put some deepth into her character.
This book made me laugh, but I was sad and angry over Ivy's ordeal.
I have two rescue dogs. One Scottish born husband. And a love of books that goes back to childhood and bookmobiles!
It just adds great spice a good mystery that is already a saucy, fun read!
Audio books are just my cup of tea!
This is the second book in a good series. I gave book one 3 stars and this one earned 4 stars. It is a series that drags you in. If you enjoy Carrie Vaughn's Kitty Norville you will like The Hollows. Listen in order it's important in this series.
Rachel Morgan is an earth witch who gets into trouble with demons and elves. She has two partners in her Runners Service Ivy, a vampire, and Jenks, a pixie. Jenks may be my favorite character. Rachel does not usually understand the consequences of her actions this keeps trouble on her heels.
Marguerite Gavin does a great job as narrator. But I have to say the production quality was not the highest and it seems to get worse as the series goes on.
art impresario, wonder afficianado and avid reader.
Really enjoying the Kim Harrison series, just wish the rewind worked better. I only want to go a few lines back but end up at the start of the chapter.
Good reader, but her male voices all sound like the same guy.
It gives you an escape from daily life and brings you into the world of witches and vampires as if they are everyday normal people with abnormal problems. A nice change of pace.
I really enjoy Rachael's character. She is young, impetuous, fearless, and loyal. The mythology is rich. Rachel Morgan is an an independent runner who nearly almost lost her life to a demon disguised as a vampire in the first book. That story established Rachel as a freelance investigator, living with an almost undead vampire (Ivy), in an old church. In the garden live her trusty assistant, Jenks (a pixie), and his family. Vampires can live in the daylight, the werewolves are organized, and Ever After is not a nice place to be. Kim Harrison makes you believe.
Trent’s storyline is a clincher. We have such a love-hate relationship with his character right now. He has been set up as the worst kind of bad guy and is certainly seems to be doing his best to earn that reputation. Still Kim Harrison surrounds him in enough mystery to wonder if he could possibly turn out to be a good guy in the end?
I heard her in Dead Witch Walking. Now, her voice is Rachael's voice in my head.
Things come together in a terrifically violent climax. Certain secrets are revealed, and other mysteries come to are brought to light. It is brutal and brilliant.
