A perfect sequal to A Voice in the Wind. Again, I had difficulty with the aggressiveness of Christian beliefs being presented as the proper and only beliefs, but nonetheless it was a beautiful read for insight into early christianity. The only flaw I hold to this book is the grand overuse of the word 'sardonically'. Once again, I recommend this book to anyone with an open mind.
This series's draws you into the lives of the characters and helps you feel what they are going through. Then the author connects the story to the challenges every Christian experiences in everyday life.

Excellent plot and narrative. Author's characters were multifaceted and the plot mood quite well.
The narrator gave the right amount of feeling as as needed to help the reader and listener enjoy the story
Words spoken in season is like a fresh rain.
Yes. A great book of love and redemption. Hadassah's love was Christ manifested. It showed me 'up-close-and-personal' God great love towards His people.
I loved Julia Valerian's transformation. I recall so vividly how much I couldn't stand her then, my heart melted deeply where I overjoyed by God's hand at work.
Hadessah's experience in the arena.
I've listen to all three books (a voice in the wind, echo in the darkness and as sure as the dawn) and found love, mercy, grace, patience, and forgiveness at a whole new level. Hadessah and Rizpa took servanthood to a new level. A very impressive, powerful book. Should be recommended reading for all who say they LOVE God. These book will cause you to examine your heart. Thank you Francine Rivers; Thank you Richard Ferrone and, thank you for ALL who worked to bring these books to light. And, most of all THANK YOU LORD JESUS or using these people to spread your love. :
The story is well written. I love the whole trilogy, and will frequently re-read them. The narrator often mid-pronounces words, especially Hebrew names and place names. I found that particularly irritating. His performance is good but he should have researched proper pronunciations before recording this. I will read the paper copy next time instead of listening to the audible version.
