Wow. Wow! This was a fantastic book! So inspiring and stirring. It made me want to shout PRAISE GOD! ... And I am a very introverted person by nature. It has such a good ending it made me want to cry. It is a fictional book, but it reminds the reader of who God is and why we are placed on this earth: to glorify Him so that others may come to know Him. But there is also a romance thrown in there... A heart rending yet eventually heartwarming romance. Ah. It was a spectacular book. READ IT!
Oh, the narrator did a splendid job as well!
Actually, it is Jennifer, not Michael. I enjoy a variety of books but am drawn to romantic historical fiction with a Christian message.
First, let me say that this is an amazing series. I absolutely loved all three books. You must read the first book in the series before you start this one or you will be lost. This is an inspiring, gripping, Christian novel about what is truly important in life. It demonstrates how empty our lives can be with out Christ, despite how full and busy our lives may seem. Francine Rivers does an incredible job bringing scripture to life. I highly recommend this series!!! Loved it!
I have read many books over the years and have listened to many audio books over the years and this is the first time for me to write a review. I was brought to tears many times in the reading of this book as I was in the first book in the series. I have been a fan of the narrator of this book for some time and this is among his very best work. I am inspired!
I loved the story so very much and in general it is well written and captivating. I wish the author would not go on and on with the inner dialog especially when it's repeating the same thoughts over and over.
I am listening to mark of the lion series for 3rd time. incredible author Francine Rivers takes you back in time to the days of early christianity, and ppl struggles in Rome+all throughout region. compelling+inspirational ♡her writings!amazing creativity and superb author.
Christ Jesus Lives!
I can't seem to come up with a title witch which to compare this novel and its prequel. It stands out to me singularly with its ability to mirror human life and suffering and love and also bring light to the truths of the God of Abraham. What a beautifully written story and passionate beyond my heart's ability to hold. Just wonderful..
I truly enjoyed Richard's performance and thought him to be incredibly capable of using different voices consistently and accurately. What a talented man!
Oh I laughed! oh I cried! I sobbed and curled in a ball and wept with Julia and Marcus and Hadasa. I'm overwhelmed!
I'm such a fan of this author and so excited that there are other novels for me to enjoy. I can't wait to delve in more to the great stories ahead of me! Thank you so much for this experience!
I thoroughly enjoyed both "A Voice in the Wind" (book1) and "An Echo in the Darkness" (book 2). You'll not want to stop listening and be prepared for some tears. As well as learning a few humbling & moral lessons (something we can ALL use). Unfortunately I found "Sure as the Dawn" (book 3) monotonous and unnecessarily long. Actually shouting "get on with it already!" a time or two. That being said, this would be a wonderful book-to-screen event.
