I'm a mental health therapist, a fan of Writers' Retreat Workshop, and am working on writing paranormal suspense novels.
I recommend not only this book, but the entire Virgin River series. I have listened to six Virgin River audiobooks, and have read several more on my Kindle. The town and people of Virgin River immediately became quite real to me, and remain so. As soon as I complete one book, I am swept right into the next.
In my profession as a mental health therapist, I spend my days with many clients who have been seriously damaged by domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes. I find that immersing in the Virgin River stories is healing for my heart. They remind me that no matter the enormity or awfulness of the challenges someone faces, we can reach out with an open heart and truly help.
I found the book to be very interesting, and it kept my interest until the ending.
Well, I accidentally started with book 6, which made me want to go back and start from the beginning! Now I'm hooked on this series! So far I'm loving the characters and story lines. Looking forward to what happens down the road!
What a place!
Jack Sheridan is my guy. He is what every woman wants in a man. He is so comfortable with who he is that he is not afraid to show compassion. He knows how to 'surrender' to life's situations and I love how he learns to love his woman.
I have so many audible books narrated by Therese Plummer (is she not also Savannah Richards?). I find her voice so comforting and I like that she makes each character's voice distinctive. Her narration played a big part in my decision to purchase all of the books in the Virgin River series.
There were parts where I laughed and parts where I cried.
If you like stories that make you root for many of its characters and that make you feel good, then the Virgin River serie is for you.
It was fast moving, never boring.
Mel's acceptance of her widowhood.
I wanted the book to go on & on. To my surprise, I discovered it was book one of a series.
I have read 2 & 3 and have started 4.
This is the first book for Robyn Carr that I have read/listened to and it was a great story! Therese Plummer did a great job as narrator. I would get another one of Robyn Carr's books any day!!
I choose this book because I love all things California Costal area and Red Wood trees.
The book is really just a formula romance novel. Not as bad as some but not particularly great either.
Probably not, the narration was fine.
a solid formula romance.
