yes......It was a good feel good book.
the main character's recovery and her relationship with Jack. Many women that I know would like to meet a Jack
I will read (listen) other books by this aurthor
I like to listen to adventure stories and funny stories. I have a real preference for travel tales and sometimes even enjoy a good mystery. I love fiction, but also like to learn facts. I like all kinds of stories. Follow me, if you do too!
Light, easy listen
Yes, I would listen to another one of her stories. The characters were strong and she conveys emotion rather well. The story, being a romance, is a bit predictable - but, the medical scenes were vivid and accurately written and that helped to add a nice layer of interest to the story.
The main character was my favorite - I'm a nurse, too and I thought her emotions and motivations were true to life.
I just liked the overall idea of an LA nurse going to work in a small town. Who among us hasn't thought about living a more simple life?
Credit-worthy - makes a nice little backdrop while working at the computer or making dinner.
I'm such a fan of Jan Karon and John McDonnough's reading of the Mitford series. I was looking for another interesting series to start listening to and this novel fit the bill. The characters are interesting and the story thought-provoking. The performance by Therese Plummer is excellent - a female John McDonnough! I''ve already bought the second in the series and can't wait to settle down with my knitting and another tale of the fictional location of Virgin River.
I listened to the entire book of Virgin River in two days!
I was drawn in by the storyline of a recent widow looking for a change. I enjoyed the story and her new life that came full circle. It was a bit steamy in section, which was welcome and I found I became more interested as the book went along.
Having enjoyed Virgin River, I picked up a second from this series [Promise Canyon] and found, while the plot was different, it had the making of 'the same book'... girl looking to build her life, boy becomes attracted, girl denys and pushes away, boy persists, girl gives in, finds love, finds life, etc, etc....I think I've uncovered the formula of this series.
Yes I would recomend to a friend, it's a very interesting story and easy to follow and hard to put down.
Absolutelty love this series! Robin Carr is one of my new favorites! Narration from Therese Plummer is amazing. She makes the stories come alive, and keeps you in the book. You'll love it!
I have listened to so many audible books over the years, starting with books on tapes, CDs and now my membershipship with audible, that I would say it was close to a "10". It was a light read. I usually like to listen to a light read after listening to a heavy, intense read, and this fit the bill. .
When Mel arrived in Virgin River and absolutely every thing went wrong that could go wrong.
No..I liked the narrator.
I like to listen while I so other things. In the car, gardening etc.
Wasn't sure I would like it since I had never heard of the series, but I am now glad I bought it.
I have bought two more in the series.
I really liked the story line.
Not sure at this point.
The book moves excessively slow... painfully slow... 2 hours into the book and they are still in the first 24 hours of the story. Wished I had the technology available to speed up the narrator. She pauses constantly and just reads the book excessively slow in my opinion.
It was ok, at best. predictable, story of young woman/s attempt to deal with untimely death of her husband by trying the 'geographical "cure, moving from a busy LA hospital to sa small town in Washington state.
