I can't believe how many books Carr has gotten out of this series but she has. Each one as good as the last. After listening to them all, I still can't wait for more. Fun to see how the town keeps growing. I find myself wishing I could visit this little town and all the people in it. So fun. Easy to listen to. Keep 'em coming!!!
I thought it was a really good book in the first half. Unfortunately as soon as the two main characters got together about halfway through, it became quite boring. Too much time spent on long drawn-out sex scenes and boring dialog that really didn't contribute to the several interesting plot lines the author had begun in the beginning of the book. I'll listen through to see how it ends -- I'm getting through it by fast forwarding when it gets too boring, and putting my Ipod on 2x speed so it goes faster when I still want to hear what's going on but the dialog gets too slow. There have still been good parts that pop in here and there in the last half.
Love the Virgin River Series. You can visualise everything, and I have listened to each of them twice now, and really enjoyed them. Am continually going onto Audible to find out when the next one is coming out.
Just when you think it ends, a new story line starts -- it's really good and it's not slow but moves right along. I really like this author and will read all the rest of her books!
This book is excellent. Characters are fantastic I don't think I can say enough good things about it. Robin Carr is now one of my favorite authors. Narrator is one of the best too. Audible please add more Robin Carr books!!! I want to know what happens to to Mike (you'll learn more about him in Shelter Mountain also a must listen.)
Started about halfway into the series, and am now starting with the first book to eventually meet in the middle. Even though I know some of the developments, such as what people are married and have children, etc., I am still enjoying starting at the beginning. I have become very attached to the characters and the geographic region they all love. I feel that the author is able to bring new life and a brand new story to each book--not boring or repetitive.
Travel in my car 3 hours a day, I listen to audible books both ways. I now hate to leave my car. Thinking of a way I can live in my car - kidding! But I love my audible books. They are the best part of my day.
Not right away because I have so many others I want to listen to. Also got hooked on the series - so I am on book 6 right now.
I love the predictability of the character's, story plot, etc. Growing up in a dysfunctional family and never having a successful relationship that worked - I live vicariously through these characters. They have provided an idea to me what a somewhat "normal" life is like and what a somewhat "normal" relationships is like. I feel safe with the characters. I am not a person who likes scary thrillers, dark story lines. I like books that are uplifting, make me feel better - this book does and Robyn Carr's entire series does as well. I am definitely hooked and grateful I am.
I love the way Robyn Carr describes the love making sciences - in this book - and all of her series. They are so sweet, loving and yet delicious. Makes me envious that I never had that in my life. Robyn Carr is a gifted story teller.
Love Story and I do have to say I am sorry
Bought this book on fluke and fell in love with the entire series and Robyn Carr. I hope the series never dies. When certain characters die or move out of the series, I mourn their loss. Robyn Carr has a way of making you fall in love with them, make them become your friend, you care for them and when they are gone - your friend is gone too. I love the series. By the way, I do consider myself to very intellectual - this is the last type of book I ever thought I would fall in love with. I almost always enjoy biographies and psychology books, never romance. But Robyn Carr changed all of that for me. Like my dog who made me love again by force - continually nudging me with her nose and jumping in my lap until I could not refuse to love anymore - Robyn Carr has accomplished the same thing. Love you Robyn.
I haven't "read" a book since 1998, just not interested....after the 50 Shades Trilogy, I have become an audio book addict! I am a very tough critic.
I have read books 1-6 so far and I greatly enjoy them more and more. I love escaping to Virgin River and listening to the trials and tribulations of their everyday life and the troubles that come to them. Each book seems to introduce new characters, while still keeping in touch with the old one that I have grown to love. I highly recommend this series to everyone!
When Mel first arrived at the cabin in Virgin River. Laugh out Loud Funny!
Her performance is outstanding! The way she makes the difference voices for each character, and the banter between them, sometimes make me laugh out loud, it's like I am sitting right there watching the characters talk to each other!
When Mel was on her bed apologizing to her husband. So heart warming.
The talent of the reader was incredible. So many voices.
Mel, I too am a widow and can identify with her feelings and struggles.
Preacher. The voice she consistently used for him was great.
Happiness in the Mountains
A great book, a great series and Therese Plummer is GREAT.
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
An excellent read. Light hearted, sweet, predictable. Nice plot development, medical facts were correct, well researched. I read this in one day, didn't want to put it down. This one is a keeper.
A credit well spent.
