I am a retired Army veteran and love to read. I like murder mystery, but enjoy nonfiction. I am a long time Star Trek fan.
I loved the Characters. The story was intense filled with twists and turns that kept me on edge. Even before the book ended I started wandering if there were other books with these characters.
No other book comes to mind that would compare.
Anna Fields performance was outstanding. I always knew who was speaking.
Yes, I actually took my IPad to bed with me, and would wake in the middle of the night and arrow back to pick up where I fell asleep.
Narrator - wouldn't get another book read by her. Also, book very predictable. I have enjoyed all of the other Lisa Gardner books I have read up until this one.
Made all the men sound old and very much the same.
All the love scenes. Just didn't seem to fit in the book.
I usually thoroughly enjoy her books, but wouldn't get another book by this reader.
Story kept me going, and I enjoyed it very much.
Mac - he kept me guessing
Get a reader with some inflection in her voice. She speaks in a monotone much of the time and the few times she doesn't - seems overdone. I really didn't enjoy hearing her, but the story was good.
Get a different reader.
No, I liked it, but it took too long to get into it, and it seemed confusing as to who was who, too many names at the beginning
First one, may try another one
It was so so.
I think Lisa Gardner is a great author, however, the narrator is so awful I couldn't listen to more than 5 minutes - so I cannot speak to the quality of the actual book.
Not sure, but I know I will look for narrator reviews before deciding on one.
Anna Fields was the worst narrator I have ever heard. The narration was like one monotoned, speedy, run on sentence.
I will never listen to anything narrated by Anna Fields again. I feel like I wasted my money on this purchase because I will not, cannot, finish listening.
Gardner makes you think..
Lost sleep listening to this book but worth it!
Yes, for sure! Anytime someone reads to me, the story and the characters take on a new life.
Kimberly Quincy. I really like her tenacity, resolve, and determination. She plays hard, works hard, and the budding relationship she is building with Mack is really cool!
Her great style of no nonsense right to the point writing
All of them she is great The most vivid is the scene in the underground tavern
The end with the usual twist thrown in
I can't say enough about Lisa Gardners style of writing. I have not come across any book of hers that I did not throughly enjoy. I am thrilled she is coming out with a new one in Feb
Definetely! But if this had been my first Lisa Gardner's novel, I wouldn't have listened and read another one. I'm happy it was not the case: I've read and listened most of her books and, so far, The Killing Hour is the only one that hasn't kept me awake all night. Kind of slow and repetitive.Anna Fields' narration is OK. If it were not for her "male voices" she would be more than just OK.
The story is kind of slow, considering that we're talking about Lisa Gardner. Anna fields does a good job, but her "male impersonations" are dull. All the male characters sound just the same, which can be not only confusing, but boring too.
No male characters.
Yes, but because is a Lisa Gardner's novel. Maybe this thriller is OK for a movie since the book is slow paced and repetitive.
Being a Lisa Gardner fan, I found it hard to say but ... I didn't like this book. Not the right one for introducing the audience to her novels; she's much more than "The Killing Hour", so please, don't read this book until you have read, at least, 3 or more of Lisa's thrillers.
Say something about yourself!
When I first started to listen I thought that the narrator doing the voices was a little hokey. But she's really good and I have enjoyed this book immensely... I'm not quite finished and already I'm disappointed that it's at the end. Really good listen.
