I happened upon the Back Dagger novels by accident and had to go back and start from Novel One and work my way through. I love that J.R.Ward went outside the box and played with the whole how vampires exist sort of thing--creating their alternative world and way of life and weaving that into the realm of life among humans. It's pretty cool and while I sometimes cringe at the fact that everyone speaks in that same short hand, tough mannered way (including the women) that seems a small issue as I glean so much enjoyment from the individual stories of the Brothers and their mates (their back stories, etc.), how they're brought together, the complex relationships and the bonds that are formed. I'm coming to the end of Lover Avenged right now and I'm almost preening with excitement, because I've already guessed what the major plot-line of the next one is going to be. Lucky me that I don't have to wait and can jump right in as soon as The End sounds on my dvr. P.S. Jim Frangione is a perfect choice for these novels. He's not the best when it comes to accents and dialects, but mostly his performances are superb. It takes a special talent to indicate the opposite sex without sounding a little odd. He's one of the readers that does it without--it appears--effort. He was a great find for the Brotherhood novels.
Love this series. Great narrator. Great story line. A story that you will want to listen to over and over again.
I love this book from the BDB series. Love Rhev, made me cry, laugh and wish that Rhev was mine. Mmmm made me a fan or purple, and the description of his barb.. Mmm mm.. get in of it ladies and gents. All genders will enjoy
This is perhaps the most addictive series I've ever listened to. The books are pure escapism and worth every minute required to listen to them.
I've read them all, and this one is just as good as the others. The reader is perfect for this series.
Can't wait for #9.
Revenge is the most interesting character, full of live and emotions. The brotherhood shows acceptance and Revenge shows that flows and mistakes can help rectify future actions. A moralistic story in the good and evil battle, full of sensuality and action.
I've listened to this book a couple times. Love it. Very hot and steamy. Although some of the language shocked me all thru this series. And very graphic killing scenes. Loved the whole series other than the last book. Kinda long and drug out.( last book in series).
I was both unsure and excited for Rhev's book. I was not sure how J.R. would "redeem" Rhev given his various business "interests". I had always kind of liked Rhevenge, liked his interactions with the Brothers, but didn't love him. I never should have questioned it. Rhev has been redeemed in a way fitting for Rhev and I more than like him now...and am looking forward to seeing how things play out in future books.
Ok let me say that I really do love this book and having it on iPod rules...but let me be real and say that the Narrator is a little corny sounding. I mean its the WARDen. Her books need to have a little edge and Urban swag. I love the Narrator in certain parts of the read but others it had me cracking up. I will still buy them with him though because the books are just that good. Rhev is the man!!!
revenge and zsadist are my fav books in the series. This book does a good job of bringing the king back into the mix too. Great story line and i cant wait to see what happens with john matthews and xhex
