I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
Okay you just have to face the fact that in this series there's no bad book. This is a fantstic series. It's my FAVORITE series and I have to come back and re-visit it. It's so great that I now have it on Audible. I love every character and of course what girl wouldn't want her own??? So even though I've read them many times before, now I'll be listening, again and again........ after all some stories are just that good.
Can you say William Shatner lives in whoever edited this performance? Everytime I expected, and frankly NEEDED a pause, there wasn't even a breath, just mow it on through... It made the performance sound stilted at times, rushed at others.
Otherwise, another great installment in the series.
This one was all kinds of wonderful! There was quite a bit going on throughout, not only with Rehvenge, but some significant turn of events involving Wrath especially. I don't think there was one minute of it where I wasn't fully engaged and loving how this story was unfolding. The cameos of Rehvenge in the earlier books peaked my interest in him, and his story is definitely one of my favorite BDBs so far. If I'm really honest, they're ALL my favorites. You simply can't go wrong with this series, it is truly one of the best in this genre, and totally credit worthy.
Absolutely - just read the series in order... each book tends to build on the other.
Jim is great!
This is my absolute favorite series... I wait anxiously for each book to come out. It's sexy, action packed, the characters 'feel' real and the narrator takes you out of your life, and plants you in the book.... AWESOME!
I'm an older Latina female who's lived in Tucson all her Life. I'm sagiteirious, 53 visually impaired with 5 babies, (3 little dogs, and 2 big dogs.) I love the out doors, nature, animals, reading, computers. I'm studying to be a hotel manager.
I've read a lot of diferent seires, but this is one of my faverotes. It's one of the ones that I'm always anticipate to see the next one. I recomend this to any vampire fan. I will not beleave that Ward won't continue the series. if he doesn't, he'll leave a lot of fans heart broken.
Grteat job Mrs. Ward.
I enjoy reading the series and how each book connects together as whole. However, I HATE the detached and unemotional reading of the narrator. Some of the writing within character dialogue is a little...off...to begin with, but this narrotor makes it sound lame and weird. I can't believe he was an "actor"...unless it was for a cheesy daytime soap and I wish he wasn't getting a cut of what I paid for it. I put up with it because I like the books and listen to them while i do insane amounts of driving for my job.
Love anything about shifters and lycanthropy. Paranormal romance is my thing! best escape and entertainment I can imagine! :]
I haven't reviewed any of the other books because after each one i am in love with the male lead. This one was about Revenge and i ended up totally falling for him as well. Messed up as he was i wanted to belong to him by the end.
J.R. Ward has a way of creating a true person from each of her characters. Never brushing over anything or leaving any dark places. Her mirror is uncovered and the lights are on! Naked and unashamed! i really appreciate those kinds of REAL characters.
Even the homo-errotiscism is okay with me. it is REAL! Intricate and developed beings that can live for a thousand years would indeed be attracted to and love BOTH sexes! It is their souls and not their bodies that we are discovering in each of the BDB books and it is because of the authors ability to show us their souls that i am in love with all of them!
I can't listen back to back to these books however. They are much more emotional than allot of other stuff i tend to listen too and i often find myself tearing up and crying. But i am working my way through them all and am near the end. i will start her fallen angel collection next.
I love his smooth voice and easy delivery. I do wish for more distinction between the characters and voices. Wish for a few more accents thrown in there. Not to be that kind of person but here goes; i can only imagine how great these books would be if Robert Petkoff had narrated them??
But Mr. Frangione is becoming a comfortable friend in my ears and i am glad for the continuity throughout the entire series. I always look before starting a new series and if the narrator changes more than once i usually won't start. So, i am grateful for that continuity.
I have never wanted to slap a heroine more in my life. So obviously, I got into the story. My only complaint is that the editing cut off phrases a lot. It makes the recording sound like a cd that is skipping. I will choose to believe that I am not missing anything, but it is disconcerting.
