I've read the negative reviews on Delilah's narrating and I'm appalled! No she wasn't the best I've heard but she by far was not the worst.
She read like she reads on her show what did you expect. She's been doing the radio show for so long of course she's going to read that way. I know she did much better than I could do!
I have enjoyed Delilah on the radio, but I have to say she was not just bad, she was horrible narrating this book. I had to go back 3 times and try to listen to it. I love the author, but I recommend you read and not listen to this book
The story was fine.. i
She read fast, ran sentences on and it was like she could not take a breath. When the character was talking... and it changed to the narrator, there was no change in voice inflection. You have to pay close attention and it just was not enjoyable. I wanted to hear the story, but she stressed me out to the MAX. I listen to Debbie's books because they are calming, feel good books. This was the first that was not.
I very much enjoy Ms. Macomber's novels and must are told so beautiful and soothing. However, this narrator is loud, one note and did not give individuality to the character's. Very hard to get through this story.
As always, the characters and setting are entertaining and engaging. When I have some free time, I would like to make the sample scarf from the book. I also like the way Macomber creates characters who love Jesus, since he is my Savior as well.
The narration is REALLY poor. I've enjoyed the books in the series up to this one but can't stand listening to this one.
The book, yes. Audiobook, no..
She sounds like she's reading to children. It's very difficult to tell the voices apart and her rhythm is awkward. She sounds like a wannabe actress.
The story was good but I hated the www adds at the beginning of every chapter. This had been very distracting to the story. Over all its was a good story.
The end had been very satisfying.
Yes it would be a good series. I don't know who could do it.
NO! Not unless someone else tells the story
NO!!! I will look to make sure she is not reading a story before I buy another audio version. She hurried through her performance and made me sorry I bought the audio version. I have bought and listened to over 150 audio books and she is the worst reader I have encountered.
I have always loved Debbie Macomber books and recently got into this series. I really enjoy the books but I have not loved the different narrators. I especially disliked this one. All the sentences ran together without breath and all the characters were the same voice. I love a good book and a good narrator really brings it to life. For me this one was almost painful to get through.
I have read several Debbie Macomber books and this one was not her best, but was a very good story. I am already listening to another Macomber book.
The most memorable moment was of course Casey being told that Brad, Lydia, and Cody were going to adopt her.
No - her voice inflections were often inappropriately placed and annoying.
Yes I would.
Delilah's voice in and of itself was not annoying, but the inflections were over the top. When you listen to a story, you want it to sound like you were reading it yourself. We are not expecting a dramatization of the story - especially not a bad one.
