This is a great book if you have no exposure to Tony Robbins material. But if you have been expose you realize that Sean is pretty much is using all the teachings of his with a twist.
In general personal development material are great if you can have a relatable story attach to it. Sean's story is very touching and inspirational.
"Get Off Your But" is an amazing book that is powerful and insightful and was written by a man who truly practices what he preaches. Sean Stevenson is the real deal. I've read this book several times and purchased copies for family and friends. Now I'm excited about listening to this audio version of the book that brought me some light in a very dark time in my life. This book is not full of scientific sounding information but useful practical advice that anyone can implement.
I love a book full of heart, psychological wisdom and humor.
This book helped me get out of a minor depression I was experiencing due to a painful medical issue. Some times I find motivational speakers annoying, but, for me, he was very compassionate, realistic, nonjudgmental, and even fun in his point of view and advice. I also really enjoyed his warm, cheerful voice, and I'm glad he didn't hire a different reader as one reviewer suggested. It wouldn't have been as powerful and experience without Sean's actual voice. Thank you Sean, for your honesty, openness and wisdom!
I thoroughly enjoyed Sean's book. He makes the audiobook entertaining while he narrates it. I recommend the audiobook for an overview, motivation and inspiration. I recommend the ebook as well in order to complete some of the exercises that Sean prescribes.
I listen to a lot of everything. I really enjoy fiction, but also business books, self-improvement and lectures.
sean gives you the best practices of successful people and adds what few do, the actual steps needed to "get off your 'but'".
I don't usually like to listen to self help books I would rather read them so I can make notes in the book as I read along but I couldn't stop listening to this one even though the author suggests reading it slowly as you do certain assignments. The book was very engaging,Inspiring, and practical and I wanted to absorb all of it in one sitting. Now I'm going to start over again and listen to it the way that the author suggests. Thank you thank you thank you. I'm going to suggest this book to my Family and friends.
This was a good book. I don't give 5 stars out easily. My opinion is, this was a good "bridge" book with a positive message, to fill my consumption path. It's information you already know...and know you should do...but that being said, we all need to have those continued positive messages flowing through our conscious mind.
Thanks for the positive message Sean...I would love to meet you out and about and hear more of your story.
The narrator was great. The book helped tremendously in helping to get over my insecurities. Recommended this for anyone looking forward to moving forward in life.
I'm going to share this book with anyone I know that is in there own way. His exercises at the end of each chapter are worth 10 times the price of this book. Pick it up, you won't be disappointed.
Sean has done an amazing number of things with his life given his disability. He outlines what has helped him and gives detailed instructions of how to overcome issues. He also gives powerful examples of others in his life adhering to his principles. Highly recommended for self-helpers!
