I might. This book took a while to get going. Overall the story was a little ho hum. While it exposed some interesting ideas, had some quite, funny quotes, I overall found it underwhelming, but amusing.
The main issue for me was that the narrative was broken and jumped around, and the beginning did a poor job of setting up the plot. Taking a little more time to do a better beginning might have made a great improvement.
Original, funny, well executed! (i know that's 4 words)
I love the melding of humor, terror, action, and plot.
One of the best narrators I have ever heard!
No extreme emotion, unless you count laughing out loud in a public place. I really hope the startled on lookers saw that I had my ear buds in.
Cant wait for the next one!! I probably will not be able to wait for my monthly credit and purchase this.
As always Christopher Moore delivers a hilarious take on vampire lore, just what I needed to break a reading slump after too much historical fiction.
Of course I loved the vampires best. They can't help but eat/ turn people to dust. Wouldn't that be a great addition to our health care system?
We listened to this entire thing on a long weekend car trip. Had to sit in the driveway when we got home!
I love paranormal books, urban fantasy or paranormal romance, sci fi as well. A good mystery will make me happy as well.
I enjoyed Christopher Moore's light take on the vampire story. The performance was wonderful and very easy to discern the different characters.
I think this book is cleverly written and creatively read. Susan Bennet does an awesome job giving the characters personality as well as making you laugh with her unique voices. I think a narrator makes or breaks the enjoyment of an audiobook and this one definitely makes it enjoyable!
Yes, the vampire craze has been worn out but this book is worth the read. It's a cute little love story wrapped in young, sarcastic, vampire humor. It's not elaborate like Discovery of Witches or dull and unsubstantial like Twilight but a good halfway point. Worth a credit!
Grandma bibliophile! Audible books make reading with an active life possible.
This book was so entertaining I had to buy the next two books in the series. This book had me cracking up. Jody starts out clueless, and she is running from her maker, and stalking him at the same time. C. Thomas Flood is her human "minion, helper, boyfriend" and simple country-boy writer. Unforgettable characters and surprises made this an exceptionally fun read. I will listen to this series again in the future.
Just above the middle...I really had fun listening to this one,
needs more practice
I would rather go to dinner with the author...the others might TAKE ME AS DINNER!!!
this will be one of my down mood books because it was fun, would like to hear more from this author..........jd
A funny take on vampires. Christopher Moore is a great author. Whenever I want a book that doesn't have the potential to bore me I check out a new C.M. book. You never know where he's gonna go.
The best reader I have ever heard. Every crazy character distinct and, in my opinion, performed to perfection. In fact, it started me on a whole Christopher Moore kick. But this series...oh, I just love it. Funny as hell and I'm even sick of vampires! Did I say I love Susan Bennett's performance? Excuse me! Worth repeating, though, and I RARELY give anything 5 stars.
The originality and humor. I don't think I've ever laughed so much listening to any other audiobook.
Her characterization. Every thing you could ever want in a narrator.
Wouldn't change a thing...when you find out why it's called that...again, it's worth reading (or hearing) just for that scene.
For me audio books are made or broken by the narrator. I love Christopher Moore and I think that Susan Bennett did an outstanding job.
