I have been reading this story since the 90's. I am glad now that I can read it all at once. I started in the mid-nighties and finally found out that the audio books are the best. I am a slow reader, also I don't put emphasis in my reading to myself and sometimes get lost and have to reread. The audio books have solved my slow reading and comprehension of what I read. I love it.
It was a young adult romance novel. It was slow. Very slow. And very predictable.
Seemed like king wanted to drag out the story by giving everyone's perspective of the same situation. Can't stand that.
Also the narreAaaaator needs to cAaaaaalm down with enthusiaaaaasm on words that don't nessisarilllllllllllyyyy need it. Sheesh.
Frank Muller has to be my absolute favorite reader that I've encountered since I began my Audible subscription. An amazing performance for yet another awesome chapter in Stephen King's "Dark Tower" epic.
At first I was disappointed that we couldn't just continue with the main story line. I have trouble with flashbacks sometimes, but this one really was worth the initial struggle.
This book was incredibly hard to get through. It's necessary to understand Roland story in order for us to continue the journey to the Dark Tower. But in all honesty, no one has broken my heart like Stephen King just did.
The book, read by King himself, gives more information about howRoland came to be on his path to the Tower. King does an excellent job in wrapping the reader (listener) into the story. Highly recommended!
