One of the most enjoyable audiobooks I've heard so far.
It is so touching to hear these stories from all sorts of different people. One on the stories perfectly resonates with my own experiences.
It made me both laugh and brought tears to my eyes.
This makes me want to find a location to take my own relatives and collect their tales.

"Listening Is An Act of Love" was one of the most moving audio-books (and books) that I've ever read. I really enjoyed the fact that these stories were about real people in real relationships as families and friends, and not just about romantic relationships only.
Despite that I loved most of these stories, some of the stories were a bit too moving, and a bit too heavy for me. Most likely, they triggered some of my issues, lol.
If you enjoy a good true-to-life story, then you'll love this audio book many times over for the many many great stories it tells.

I downloaded this because I knew what Story Corps was from NPR, and it was free. I have re-listened to it several times. The sincerity of the speakers absolutely permeates the experience. I'd give the ratings 6 stars or more if I could.

This is terrific, Hearing this just changes your prospective fast.
I can't believe we can have this free.
You will feel every emotion imaginable.
tell one complete story instead of clips
I liked that you can basically tell your story and they'll store it for you.
All of the stories were good.
heartwarming, loving, informative.
I liked the grandfather in the first story as I often wished I had thought to do more in depth interviews with family members while they were still with us. The grandfather's story was very touching as was the grandson's reaction.
I have never listened to anything by him before.
This was my first foray into the Freebies offered. I hope they are all as wonderful. The Story Corps is a marvelous project.
I had never heard of StoryCorps before, and I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to this. The stories were wonderful, and some of them brought tears to my eyes (much to my chagrin, since I was listening to this at the gym!!!). I absolutely loved each and every story; there was not a bad story in the bunch. These are honest, heart-felt stories; having them told by the people in their own voices was superb! Thank you, Audible for the free gift and also to introducing me to this concept!

For a freebie this was great. I hate that some didn't like this, but that can't be helped. What I was told was a third of the people will like you, one third won't like you and the last third don't care either way. I guess that's the same when it is books too. Mainly because this book is so personal. I really appreciated it, my grandparent's used to tell me about growing up and they were wonderful stories. These interviews brought me to tears in some instances. I admit I'm a sap for human connection, but I've been a nurse for 30 years with 23 of those in pediatric cancer care. Children have taught me a lot about the appreciation for others, and their strength in adversity is amazing. Even with terminal illnesses they manage to remember others, worrying about how their parents are. These interviews are just affirmations of the importance of those connections, and a great gift of and for humanity. Thanks again audible, I appreciate it.
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
This was a great collection of 3-5 minute stories about people's lives. I was so intrigued I looked up their web site and was happily surprised I could listen to other stories on the website. I immediatly sent a web link to all my friends and family. I laughed, I cried, I had a rollercoaster ride of emotion during this short hour of time. And best of all it was free.
