The best I have listened to so far!
I loved it because they keep a sense of humor, allowing us to laugh at our irrational behavior while learning alternative, effective, strategies for getting through a break up. Even if you are in a loving relationship that IS working, this book will give you skills you can use to help others. We all know someone who is suffering the devastation of the end of a relationship with a loved one.
Both readers were fabulous, but Greg was the definite leader.
I learned that I can keep going. That it is normal to have the feelings, and not to fight them. I learned to grieve without settling for anything that would compromise my dignity. I learned that we do go on, life continues, and if we engage in self destructive behaviors it does not make our loved one come running back but it does keep us in a state of pain for a longer period of time.
Get this book! If you are in a break up, Get this book immediately. Also, I listened it to it twice on the way to work, just to get through the day on a positive note and not send that
I have read 20 books in one summer. I like reading YA books
I really iked this book, its a good little buddy to have when you just broken up with someone or just got dumped (not that either of those have happened to me yet), Even though i found this usful because i have been rejected and its sometimes hard to let go of something You thought was special or real, this book give you the truth while providing some laughter and cooking. It also has a part at the end for guys. But I would definatly suggest this book to anyone who is going through or just got broken up with.
For those feeling the pain of a break up, this is an essential buy. It succeeds in making you laugh (you need that right now), feeling superior (I'm upset, but at least I'm not acting like THAT), and giving you the hard truth in a loving way (It's called a break up because it's broken. Move on.).
Hearing how painful the authors' break-ups were. You'll feel better, because at least you're not that bad, right?
The alternating male/female voices. While geared to some degree for women (smart girl's guide) it transcends gender. Translation: Guys, don't be afraid of buying it. It doesn't trash men.
No, because it was so much fun, I didn't want it to end too soon. I kept being glad there were hours left.
The introduction drew me in immediately. I was walking along the beach listening to this, with many other contemplating people and I started busting up to the point I couldn't control it. A woman walking alone and laughing her head off isn't something I ever thought I'd be but it was liberating! I had tears running down my face - not from grief but laughing. Our emotions can sure make us look ridiculous! hahaha. Listen to this one, it's worth it.
Ladies, we all know that we can't go wrong when we purchase this book.
But what I was disappointed is that the narrator is not Greg but another guy!!!! His tone seems okay but not as real as Greg though.
It's amazing to me that this book was written by the same author as "He's Just Not That Into You." While I really enjoyed the first book, I think this book was full of fluff and very little substance. Maybe Liz was the mastermind behind the original message. I just wasn't into this one.
