This is a must read it tells how it is to evolve to becoming a trader. As it was back then it still is with just a little extra laws in place. But as stated you need to be your own man when it comes to trading and make all your own choices when it comes to buying or selling a stock. You and only you can make the best choice. Forget tippsters
This is the book they will be a classic one hundred years from now. Great narration. I love the story and I learned a lot from the trading perspective.
This book is great, most already know this is a must read for all traders. I read this book before but I enjoyed it so much that I wanted the audio version also since I don't get time to read but a lot of time to listen. I listen at work, so I listen for upwards of 5 to 6 hours at a time, several hours in I did seem to get a little bored, not sure if its cause I already knew the story or if its the performance of the narrator. Overall though I would definitely recommend this book.
The relevance of the story to the present after about a century.
The narration was fantastic too.
This is the best as the author captured the brilliance of livermores mind in such a way that it captures the "how and "why" he trades the way he did. I'm always drawn into the stories as if I'm their!
The author who also deserves credit gets the most out of who is probably the greatest trader of all time. To have gotten inside the mind of this trading genius shows that he would be successful in any era as Livermore know as much about human emotion and how they drive markets up or down and he reacts swiftly long or short! No wonder this is a classic its information is timeless. Glad the author captured this genius thoughts before he died.
A great narration and story teller!
It is too long for one listen so I love the bookmark feature and usually pick it up and listen while i'm on the computer. I'm starting my third listen as I always learn something new!
Please tell the narrator (Rick Rohan) to narrate the other Livermore classic "How to trade in stocks". I would buy that in a second if it were available.
Life is a journey, enjoy it......because one day it will all end.
Even though this book was written decades ago, the lesson in the book are timeless.
Audible is essential to me as sleep.
Great literature offers insight into the human condition. Although trading, in markets, streets and financial markets, is a basic of civilization, little has been written about it. This book is timeless because it explores the discipline and focus required to make a living trading.
The narrative helped me to to recall the behaviour, discipline and nerve necessary to make successful trades. There is nothing like it and I never want to do it again. The book outlines the mindset necessary to run a scalping business in boarding school, the street corner or on the trading floor. It is a rare, and inglorious state of mind that has is almost never explored in literature. In Shakespeare, Shylock is an impoverished narrative of the mindset of a merchant trader. This book goes beyond the cardboard cutouts of merchant trader, and looks at the processe and human relationships necessary to sustain this vein of life. In this sense, it is a classic.
Amazing trading information
Rick provides a vocal environment that is absolutely captivating, you feel liek a fly on the wall. He provides the perfect imagery to allow sight in his words.
I really enjoyed this book. I forgot I was listening for guidance on my own option trading philosophy at times because I was so engrossed in the stories.
I left with more than I came for.
