This is far and away one of the best listens I have experienced. I could not turn it off but, at the same time, I did not want it to end. The time at the battle school was enthralling.
Great book. My only complaint is that after the ending, which was great, he kept on going. It is clear that he only tacked this on so that his second book, which was already writen, would fit into a series.
This is without a doubt the best sci-fi audio book I've ever listened to. I've been searching for something to captivate me as Enders' Game has and nothing compares. Truly a work of art!
This is a great book. The audio is also great. The readers of this series are very engaging and make the book really come alive. I highly reccomend the entire series. And this is definitely the first book in the series to read.
This is one of the funnest books I've ever read. And listening to it reminds me of all I enjoyed during that first read. The evolution of Ender from a bright, innocent 6 year old to a leader of armies is so enthralling that I can't wait to get in my car again.
However, it is certainly not one of the greatest science fiction books ever. Card is the John Grisham of science fiction. He creates fine young heros and spices things with narrative tension and intriguing details. But the adult dialog is awkward and the ideas get hijacked by psychobabble.
And this recording is an overwrought melodrama. Part of the reason is the use of a full cast, who act out the parts that Ender is not in. These sections add depth to the story, but come off as either stilted (Colonel Graf and his cohorts) or silly (Valentin).
When are they going to make the movie?
One of the best Science Fiction books on the market today a must read for all Sifi fans. Excellent characters that wrap you up in there lives. Story is engaging all the way through, never a dull moment. Completely love this book
One of the best Sci-Fi experiences. You must experience it! It is one of the few books that have haunted me for a long time. But I did find it very depressing.
I loved this book. One of the best and fastest reads in a long time. I still can't stop thinking about Ender and his life. Though it's a science fiction book, it's mostly about the life of a special kid and his mental and emotional strength.
This is one of those books you can listen to over and over.
I had forgotten how compelling the story of Ender Wiggin was. I read the book many moons ago, and loved it. When I saw the Unabriged version of this book, I decided to give it a go.
I was extremely pleased with the quality of this audiobook. The reders were top notch, and really managed to convey the emotion and pace of the novel. I highly enjoyed the entire production, and would recommend this to anyone that is a hard Sci-Fi fan, a fan of the print book, or someone who is just curious to see what all the fuss surrounding this acclaimed novel is about.
To fans of the book, the most rewarding part of this audio version is the 5 minute discussion at the end of the presentation by the author where he discusses his original intent behind the novel, and its' sequels.
Altogether, this is one of the best audiobook presentations I have been lucky enough to come across.
