Wish this whole series was available. Shooky is a comfortable character who draws you into her world of adventure and strangeness with ease. She always leaves you wanting more.
This audiobook was just as great as the first one. I highly recommend it. Like the first Sookie Stackhouse book, the narrator did a great job at all of the characters. The plot was quick moving. Even though this book follows the same characters from Dead as a Doornail, you don't have to have listened to that book to get this one. I can hardly wait for the next to come out, which I will definitely be downloading.
A good read for a summer day. I'm hooked on this series! The narration was excellent, the story quirky and unique. I want to read ALL of this author's fun series.

Author: Charlaine Harris

With a rabid fan base that grows larger each day, the New York Times and USA Today best-selling Sookie Stackhouse mysteries by acclaimed author Charlaine Harris are not to be missed. Along with their phenomenal popularity, the books have also captivated critics and earned such prestigious honors as an Anthony Award. Wedding fever has come to Bon Temps, Louisiana! Unfortunately, buxom, blonde, beautiful, and telepathic cocktail waitress Sookie is not the bride-to-be, so she takes the opportunity to travel to New Orleans on family business. As heir to the estate of her newly dead cousin Hadley, Sookie unearths a big secret. Soon it becomes clear that more than a few people will do anything to stop Sookie from looking into Hadley's past. Fresh, fashionable, and a little bit frightening, Definitely Dead is the best entry yet in an endlessly entertaining series.
This is one of my favorite Sookie Stackhouse novels. I LOVE Quinn the tiger. I think he is sexy as hell. I had the ooportunity to revisit this novel via audible audiobooks. Happy to say it hasn't changed my opinion. The chosen narrator, Johanna Parker was perfect for the job. She takes on Sookie with gusto, bringing our southern belle to life. She does a great job voicing the others characters too. I am glad that one of my favorite Sookie tales is even better on audio.
I enjoy the story and the narrator. Entertaining. Narrator does a good job at voices and accents. No irritating habits.
I am a retired Court Reporter and I LOVE books. All kinds of books but my favorites are mysteries and period books. I like civil war books and some biographies.
This is one of my favorites in the series. I love all the characters and the story line.
I'm sure this book would appeal to people who enjoy reading about fabulously beautiful rich and famous people with expensive clothes and sharp, witty, shallow dialogue. If you like realistic likeable people in realistic settings, you might not enjoy this. I didn't.
I love Charlaine Harris, and I love Sookie Stackhouse. Unfortunately, the narrator is very flat, so all of the humor that Harris has written into Sookie also falls flat: Sookie's sarcasm, spirit and charm drown in the narrator's monotone. The story is worth a listen, nonetheless, because the story is well written, if not well acted.
