I have read ALL Patterson's books except for the young adult series (bird chilren) and have enjoyed every one of them until this one. It was somewhat boring to follow and the ending was too easy to come to a conclusion that there would be a sequel. I hope "The Quickie" coming out in a few weeks is better.
Chapter 1: No suspense
Chapter 2: A new Chapter every Sentance
Chapter 136: Honestly folks! Compared to the first five in this series, this one was a real yawner. ITS NOT WORTH IT.
I love Patterson!! Having said that, this is not my favorite of the Women's Murder Club series. It would have gotten 5 stars if it was written by anyone else, but Patterson is held to a higher standard. I wouldn't miss it anyway.
I have loved the previous books in this series, so I was really excited about listening to this one. I was a bit disappointed. The plot was really several subplots. The characters we've grown to know and love in prior books just did not shine through. Lindsay acts downright weird. Nobody who loves her dog as much as she does would ever "forget" to come home and walk the dog. The reader doesn't get any of the close girlfriend feeling of the "Murder Club". Their friendship seems an afterthought. I will read the next in the series; I hope it gets back to the original format of the books.
A predictable installment of the Women's Murder Club--good for beach listening when you're not paying too much attention. The multiple plot lines were only loosely tied together--this was more of a view into the lives of Lindsey Boxer & her friends, rather than a well-constructed mystery. I'll probably borrow the next installment from the library, rather than purchasing it.
