This is a great book and well worth the money! The story moves along well and the ghost gives you chills. The narrator is very clear and believable. Could not stop listening. Great chiller, thriller, detective book. Can't wait to hear LAND OF ECHOES. Thank you Daniel Hecht.
hope more stories are soon available from this author - i didn't even notice the traffic - i hoped it was slow so I could listen longer each day - great story
A new basis for a mystery/thriller. The characters and their interaction keep you thinking. The reader makes the characters live for the listener. This could not happen without excellent writing and Daniel Hecht provides this ... and more.
The research into New Orleans, parapsychology and the history give deeper interest for the listener. I kept guessing as to the outcome and kept being suprised.
I look forward to more from these characters from this writer.
sort of slow but not dull. Never a thought of turning it off. after the first 30 minutes totally hooked. good narrator but is best at format 1.
I would give this book 4.5 stars, but the program won't let me. In all, I enjoyed the discussion of the paranormal and the juxtaposition of it with "normal" psychology. The mystery was good, too, with a couple of unexpected twists.
I would listen to another book by this author.
This was a good book. The characters were well defined and easily identifiable. Highly recommend for a different sort of mystery.
This is a good story... But Anna Field's voice isn't the best I've heard. Her southern accents (especially the men) are pretty awful. Her voice also has a certain annoying emotionless quality. Its a great book... But the narrator does nothing for me.
Home is where my books are.
If you love New Orleans and the gripping atmosphere of a really scary ghost story, look no further! This is a creepy, but totally satisfying read. Enjoy! And the reader is perfect, too!
