I love being read to.
For anyone who wants a deeper and more fulfilling Christan life, you will appreciate this encouragement.
So enjoyable to listen to a book. I am able to picture the characters and interaction while the narrator reads.
This book provides a unique opportunity to consider the modern day church from a 1st century perspective. It challenges the core of our relationship with Jesus and others, and whether we really find life in Him. What you find will change you and others.
I found the book to be very interesting, thought provoking, compelling, and highly encouraging, all at the same time.
I recommend it to everyone who isn't really sure about whether God is real or not. And if He is real, what does it take, and what does it mean, to have a relationship with Him?
I recommend it to everyone who has become highly disillusioned with the church as they have observed or experienced it.
I recommend it to everyone who
thinks there must be something missing in the living out a life of faith as they know it.
I recommend it to everyone who longs to know the love and acceptance of God, "with no strings attached".
Lastly, I ESPECIALLY recommend it to anyone who is preparing for, is currently working in, or who once was in a church leadership position.
The institution of Church and the Body of Christ, the true Church, are so clearly defined. In this busy world we often confuse the two, and Wayne's book moves us into understanding the difference and leads us to living for Jesus and not the church.
I would listen again to grasp concepts I missed the first time.
Encounters with John, Disciple of the real Jesus
Yes, this is a book that opened my eyes outside of the typical 4 walls of church. I might have to read this again to make sure they (my eyes) stay open too.
I could relate with the main character in a lot of ways.
