"Best of the Series"
Like the other books in the series, the author describes why the characters, especially the main character, says or does EVERYTHING, to the point of aggravation.
There is a lot of redundancy from the redundancy department in this book as well :)
The author is very good at describing the action, and there is more action, suspense, and adventure in this book as compared to the previous ones.
Overall, it was decent to good, and I wanted to finish it once I started.
The reader was good.
"HOOKED ON JOHN RAIN !"
All the John Rain books are definitely among the very best.
The characters. I love Dox. The exciting movement which made me want to keep reading.
Dox.
Of course. I didn't want it to end.
Just wish there were more John Rain books or others that I could enjoy like this series.
"John Rain doesn't make a splash for me"
As intriguing a concept of the Asian hit man is, I can never find any real depth to his character. This book attempts to show his selfless side in protecting his son and the son's thankless mother; but that comes off as more of a natural instinct than strength of character or conviction. I find him forgettable soon after I finish a book.
"Great Story except for the frequent F --- words"

Wrapped up the lose ends of the story and didn't leave you hanging, but clearly left it open for the next book in the series.
Fair
It has a whole series
"The "Last" John Rain"
If you have liked the John Rain series and have been reading them in order, you might want to stop with this one. The next in the series has John Rain overly introspective and the narrator overly dramatic. I stubbornly stuck it out to the end but had no satisfaction in doing so.
Please, please Audible, do not use Scott Brick with this author again. Stick with Michael McConnohie or one of the other readers of this series.
Lover of good ideas
"Second in the series"
This is the second book in a series of three books on the Assassin John Rain. Thhis second book has done little to change my views on Barry Eisler as an author. A fair story, but rather one dimensional characters and plot.
The problems is now I am hooked on what has happened to Rain and want to listen to the final book to find out what happens to this man.
I love to read espionage and criminal thrillers. My lifestyle doesn't allow time to sit and read so audio books is really an enjoyment.
"Eisler does it again"
This book has an outstanding base line. It is well put together and kept my attention.
Yes it did. The author sets you up and keeps you wondering what is next.
