Its great to hear the president read his own book-you know he'll give his personal inflection to eliminate misunderstandings. Plus, it's like listening to him in person.
You must listen to the version that he reads - he is entertaining and insightful; emotional and inspiring. Another required read for all Americans.
I found this book interesting, and engaging. It is useful as a historical review of the events during this President's administration. However, the review is very "surface level". There is very little depth to any of the commentary or review. There were so many events, developments and strategies during his administration, about which I craved incite, or detail; including the Monica Lewinski issue. The President offered very little incite on any of this history.
This shows an interesting review of politics from Bill Clinton's perspective plus enough of his personal life to keep the reader interested. If you're interested in getting a beginner's perspective on American politics, this is a good read. If not, then you'll find the book about an hour too long. Overall a good read and an insight into how Bill sees himself.
This was my first political autobiography in years and I enjoyed it. The President's selection of topics left me with a feeling of "holes" - maybe I should have selected the unabridge version. I've downloaded Mrs. Clinton's book, maybe it will provide additional insights to the President's political life as well as a look into her own.
As a non-fiction book I have to give it credit for keeping me engaged.
I would have given 5 stars if it had been an unabridged reading! So disappointing not to get all the details of an unabridged read by the author's own voice. This book should, and I hope, shall be on lists of required reading for students. I only wish we could have had him for a 3rd term. How many lives need not have been lost.
This book gives me hope for the future of our country, that the programs he has established will give us another such talented and dedicated leader.
I was captivated by President Clinton and how brutily honest, and HUMBLE he was. I believe that many people in our culure would benefit from learning about his journey, and how many people have such similar life situations, yet dealt with them far worse ways than President Clinton did. I have learned in life that it is so unwise to judge someone unless you have walked in their shoes, yet we have all judged him on tales from the media, and the other party trying to expose his faults. Well, guess what? we all have faults. It takes a big man to admitt his faults and so his humanity. I so loved this book! And he reads it himself....even better!
I generally like UNabridged books, but sadly, Mr. Clinton only read the abridged version. I highly recommend this. Had he done the UNabridged version, I'd recommend that, but this book needs to be told by the author.
I recommended this book to several of my friends and family. This is a fascinating insight into Bill Clinton the man and the politician, and I was particularly interested in hearing about his upbringing and entry into politics. Narration by the author added to this book's appeal.
Great autobioagraphy - well written and an enjoyable listen. Clinton offers insight into his politics, political career and personal life that give the listener the opportunity to gain knowledge of what it is to be the President of the United States. Whether you agree with his politics or not, it is a must for anyone intrested in American Politics. My only reget is that it is abridged - otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. I hope that the publisher will produce an unabridged version of the book!
