This book is well written and expertly narrated. Lots of fun to listen to. I listen while commuting to work, so could hardly wait to get back in the car each day to find out what was going to happen next. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed this book, the twists and turns of Ram Mohammad
Thomas's life, although fictional gave me an insight to the nonfictional lives of poor children in India. Recommended
I am a long-time listener, and this is the first audio book I felt compelled to review. The story is good or even great. Clever and captivating...But (as noted by others) the best was the narrator--indeed, the best icing I have ever had on an audible cake! Phenomenal.
As soon as I finished the book (and got over my devestation that it was over), I wanted to listen again.
A great story. With loads of twists and turns. Funny and poignant.
And yes, Kenny Shale's performance is fantastic.

I looked forward to listening to this book but gave up after the first few chapters. While the story was tragic, every bit of tragedy related to terrible sexually dysfunctional relationships: incest, male rape, and on and on. Not what I was expecting from an "off-beat novel, a blend of high comedy and touching melancholy." The content of the book should have been more clearly described in the review. A waste of a purchase.
