this was an ok book. No challenge to follow the story and at times the reader's voice got to me. Some of it was just not believable and the end was predictable as far as who the main character ended up with. Oh well..............
I was glad when this book was over. This was my first Barbara Rosenblat and I almost didn't finish it. Strong female leads are my favorite but I couldn't comprehend a judge who picked up nasty men, in nasty bars, and went to nasty motels for raw, hard sex. Well.... maybe I could but, the rest of the plot was weak and improbable. Thumbs down..... way down.
I actually drove around the block to hear more of this engrossing story of the trials and travails of a female federal judge. The story was interesting, pretty accurate from a legal standpoint and the narrator was a perfect choice. The ending was weak but the rest of this audio book is a must listen.
Queen of UTEE
The ending was a bit of a let down, but the rest of the book had great suspense and lots of interesting characters.
Each day I looked forward to picking up where I left off.
I read some of those other reviews with a smile, they can't seem to get past a character who is actually human with faults. Kate is a totally believable character, and this was an engulfing book that I thoroughly enjoyed. So if you are a high morals bible thumper pass this one by, if you want a fun book about a real woman dive in! Great job Lisa. Not as compelling as some of your others, but totally enjoyable. thank you.
An avid reader and listener with eclectic tastes... One unifying them is my love of humor, mystery and great narration.
One of the best books by Lisa to date. I love the Philly authenticity!
