I teach Business, Economics, and English at a university in Tokyo. My interests are in politics, economics, and philosophy. I hold a BA in English Literature, and an MA in Political Science.
I am typically a big Ann Coulter fan because I think she's stupid...kind of like a Right Wing Jon Stewart. She says some of the silly things most normal people think in the back of their heads but the brain filters out as nonsensical ravings of a lunatic mind. I didn't like this book because it's a bunch of out-takes. They aren't even full articles, just paragraphs. As usual, it's off the wall silly, but quite disjointed. If you have read her articles or other books there is absolutely nothing new here. I'd give it a pass due to lack of originality...
This book, by Coulter's own admission, is just a rehash of everything we have already heard her say or write. No new vitriol for us to feast upon.
Ann Coulter in this book is funny and quick-witted. She is always fresh and witty in interview. Unfortunately life is not as simple as the Ann Coulter witticism would make it. We live in a diverse world that is not simply USA and us alone. I wish our world was the Ann Coulter image....it is not. If you want balance-this is not it. If you want comedy that is sadly onesided...this is it. I live with an Ann Coulter...they are beautifully rigid in their correct beliefs... but the world is fluid.
I love to listen to American books. Following the plot, keeping track of personal developments and intrigues while walking two miles to work
I like to hear political views that are not mine. However, Ann Coulter is not so much giving arguments for her position as she is being witty and selling herself. Her favorite line is: I rest my case.
And, I'm afraid I don't like her voice.
So, despite the sometime hilarious parts, not my cup of tea.
5 stars - books that I will listen to again and again. 4 stars - books that I might listen to again someday. 3 stars - books that I probably won't listen to again. 2 stars - books that I know I will never listen to again. 1 star - books that I should have never listened to in the first place.
Democrats are hypocrites.
Well, you have to admit that her voice is pitch perfect for this kind of critical analysis of her political opponents and their ridiculous point of views and indefensible acts of hypocrisy. You also get to hear the sincerity in her voice which convinces you (well she convinced me) that she truly believes in her convictions. I like people who believe in and are ready to defend their convictions, especially when they are ethically correct convictions.
Ann Coulter is spot on when it comes to her opinions on Abortion and she shows just how hypocritical the left are on this extremely controversial topic. And she is so completely right about the left-wing media dragging "The Jersey Girls" out to make political hay out of their husband's deaths. Oh! And you gotta love the way she decribes herself. Gosh, I almost forgot, her list of where the Left have been wrong over the past decade or so - absolutely perfect. Okay, the whole book moved me - I can't think of a single flaw.
I love Ann Coulter, she is incredibly funny, displaying plenty of irreverant wit and lots of intellectual sarcasm. That being said, this book is not for Democrats, Socialists, Communists or Main Stream Media elites - it would just be too much for them to handle i.e., they can't handle the truth!
SHE'S DONE IT AGAIN!!!!! GREAT AS USUAL. LOOKING FORWARD TO HER NEXT BOOK!!!!!!!! GO GET EM' ANN!!!!!!
