I've listened to almost all of SEPs books but this one was one of my all time favorites. I highly recommend this one if you like a good love story with a lot of comic relief.
When I am stressed, I love to reread or relisten to Susan Elizabeth Phillip's books. She has such delightful characters and I can relax and know that all will turn out well. Other crime novels take lots of effort and stress even though they are interesting. Susan's books are great light reading!
I immediately listened to it again!!! It is a story of love prevailing against the odds. SEP is insightful in her development of the characters. It is a wonderful story of arrogant but loveable superstar jock, Bobby Tom Denton and Gracie Snow, smart, anything but attractive and geeky. BT only dates bombshells; but his life is turned upside down when he meets Gracie the absolute opposite of the women that he surrounds himself. She is smart, but geeky and sporatically insecure. She irritates and amuses him, but Gracie's makeover transforms her into a cutie and BT doesn't like the competition. SEP also gives great descriptions of the intimate scenarios...WHEW!!! Very heartwarming to hear this story and the wonderful "story in a story" of BTs Mother overcoming the loss of her husband and BTs Dad. It is definitely worth listening to MORE THAN ONCE. Almost didn't buy because of the summary; but, it has become my favorite.
I adored this book. B.T. was a bit of an a$$ throughout the book, but he had his moments of redemption. I loved how the ending brought all of B.T.'s feelings toward Grace to the surface. Sweet book!
Heaven, Texas is one of SEP's best. It's charming, witty and as always, entertaining. Just when you think you know what's going to happen next, the storyline takes on a new twist. SEP never fails to disappoint.
This is the second in Susan Elizabeth Phillips' ficticious Chicago Stars NFL team series and it is far and away the funniest of the 6 that I have read! It is sexy and funny!
If you have read or listened to some of SEP other books about the Chicago Stars football team then you will enjoy Bobby Tom Denton's story with Gracy. I didn't laugh as much as some of her other books and the ending was kind of corny but I still give it 5 stars. It is a great escape and with Anna Fields narration you just can't go wrong.
No. It is in a category of its own.
She wasn't bad. I wouldn't hold this book against her.
Where to start...? How about from beginning to end?
This book isn't like the others in the series that have some lighthearted dialogue between the characters. In this book there is no respect shown towards the heroine or the women reading this book. The hero of this story isn't just "afraid of love", he has no respect for our supposed heroine. The hero doesn't just ignore her or put her off he is down right HATEFUL towards her. It was hard to get to the end of this book and so disappointing for those of us that started out liking this series. I read, Match Me If You Can first and thought I would go back and start at the beginning, which was a mistake.
I'm done with Susan Elizabeth Phillips, the "Misogynist".
