I enjoyed the story, however, I prefer to listen to one narrator. I prefer to hear someone read the book, rather than listen to an attempt to make it a dramatic production. Also, the music that is added at times is very distracting and sometimes rather corny.
I could not even listen to the whole story because having a different voices narrate for each part was so distracting. I can use my imagination to embellish the story without any help! Keep is simple, one narrator please!!!!!
James Patterson is the most popular book author in the world, so I eagerly anticipated reading my first Patterson book. Based on the reviews, I expected a face-paced, suspenseful and fun plot and that is exactly what I got. Beyond the great story, the Hope Davis and Campbell Scott were fantastic narrators.
In fact, this could have been a perfect audible book if it weren't for the kitschy background music that started and ended every chapter. It was almost a parody of the melodramatic music played to accompany the old silent films.
I was also frustrated with the way Audible broke up the chapters. At well over 100 chapters in the book, I can understand why Audible didn't break it up by individual chapter but they could certainly broken it up more efficiently than they did.
All in all a good book but it could have been great.
I enjoyed the audiobook so much it was difficult to put it down until the end! The intimate scenes were not overdone and the narrators played their parts well. This is my first book by this author but definitely not my last!
I listened to this while painting my bathroom. It was the most enjoyment I have had in painting any room. Your narrators were great.....with the accents and all. Plus the story kept you wondering, as I'm sure Patterson and Roughan wanted that way!
The perfect suspense/mystery/thriller novel. Brilliantly executed, and audio performances were stellar. I listened to this in my car and would literally find excuses to drive more so I could find out what happens.
There were some interesting twists and turns. I really did enjoy the book.
It is a good beach read. I would recommend it.
Yes. I could enjoy it many times, because when I listened to it the first time I was driving acoss Virginia and Kentucky and I missed several twists of the story. I always enjoy listening to a tape or CD a second time to pick up the things I missed the first time.
Yes. The end was really a great shot, since our hero was not to blame, but justice will out at the end.
It is hard to choose which was better. Both were exceptional.
