So good. The story is epic, and the reading performance is spot on, especially the main characters. Can't read this one first though, although you can read volume two first.
Wow. This series keeps getting better and better. Excellent, suspenseful story by King and reading performance by Frank. Especially, Frank's fluid transition between accents. I can't wait to read the next.
Disappointing ending, and double disappointing to be the end of frank muller's masterful narration.
Despite that, it's a wonderful story that keeps your attention throughout.
Series continues to get better. Wasn't sure after first 2 books but really glad I stuck it out. Can't wait to start next one.
I really love this book. Even though the portals of the previous book were super interesting to me I found the setting of this book far superior. The addition of oy was a cherry on top of this already fantastic desert.
Myst/thrillers and ✨fun fantasies✨are my favorites but always open for a good story.
This is my favorite book of the series so far, it really let's you get attached to the characters.
Eddie, Susannah and a few more very endearing vagabonds remain with Roland on his ever important quest for "The Dark Tower". There are dangerous obstacles that they all must work together to surpass, and some wonderful riddles that keep the ole mind mill turning. As the group delve deeper into the terrain of an extremely strange, dilapidated, mid/parallel world, each of them in different ways, are beginning to feel like it is their own quest, with or without Roland. It's hard to get too specific because giving away spoilers is too easy. The recap at the beginning was extremely helpful and then the story wonderfully moves right on with the quest. In this addition to the series we are treated to the kindness of the human heart, terrorized by the darkness of twisted minds and consumed by the unconditional love of an animal.
Stephen King is a snake charmer, his writing is so hard to compare, especially in this series. Is it a Fantasy, Sci-Fi or MysteryThriller? I think it Is brilliant how he slips seamlessly between each genre. Frank Muller does an excellent job narrating, his distinct voices help to add personality and depth to each of the main characters. I can't wait to move onto book IV.
My favorite in the Dark Tower series, Wizards and Glass is a close second. i it's unfortunate that Frank Muller was unable to finish narrating the series.
