At or near the top. A great story, well written and well narrated. I love dit.
The "now/then" contrast in time and story. My only criticism is that the story was way too long. It had 3 or 4 endings -- any of which would have been suitable.
Our "hero" of course!!
I especially liked the discussion of the "pros and cons" of religion. A really great comparison of the subject matter.
Any of the earlier endings would have been better. The author went on and on before ending the book on an unbelievable note. Still, the story was, overall, very good and I enjoyed 99% of the dialogue.
It was so close to being good many times. The plot just kept falling short, the twists were predictable & how it ended was just frustrating for lack of a better word.
His voice didn't do justice to most of the characters. It's too specific of a voice.
This book sucked me in, the conflict internal of the main characters makes you want to know how it turns out.
I loved Tess she is a great strong female character
He was able to individualize each character so I was not confused who's head I was in.
I loved Tess' motive change in the end.
Covert spy & crime thrillers with lone heroes. Lots of action, start to end. Bad endings = bad book. Love Jack Reacher & Nathan McBride!!
I thought it would be good because there was some association to Dan Brown.......Nope!
Didn't get far eough into it.
This was interesting and well written. I would not call historically accurate or a testament of faith. This was just a good book that enjoyed listening to. Relax and enjoy a good story.
This is an interesting story with a definite ending. Of course there are always a couple of parts that you should not dwell on for believability. There is a lot of action and good flow. Surely, you have heard of the Knights Templar and their protection of some secrets. This story is one possible line of those secrets coming to light. The story takes place in current times and flashbacks to the past. The narrator is very good.
Not a page turner. This is a book with an agenda. If it had a decent plot line or even a decent character or two, it might be simply boring. This book has a contrived hatred of the Catholic Church coupled with every trite plot element. The author has little command of the history. He has a hatred and he wants to share it. I regret I wasted so much time on this author.
Mystery, history, & technology are what I like to read, even better if they are inter connected. I will love a book and get lost in it or hate it and never make it all the way through. I love getting so into a book that is feels it's actually happening in my life and at the end feel a void I need to fill with another good book.
Im glad I used a credit on this, right up my ally, did not disappoint
A story with plot points not obvious a mile away would be a Start
Not with this material
Nope, can I get a refund on that part of my life?
Pass, do not stop even for a quick visit
The book is about the 'secret' the knights Templar held over the Catholic Church. This book provides a look into the working of the Catholic Church. It looks into how they will do anything to protect themselves, so they never lose power. It also delves into the treaties that are open to the public that we never read. The author goes into detail about the history of the Templar's and the relationship between the Catholic Church and people. The story shows how we can see one thing and still believe another. There are more books in the series, however none of them are required. This is a good stand alone story. No point in ruining it with less than good squeals.
