"Illegal Waterboarding". This is used so often that one can only surmise that Eric Van Lustbader is the pen name of Chris Matthews. Espionage is apolitical. This book is not. If you want an extremely left wing biased worship of poor state department policy please read this book otherwise move on to another author. We miss you Robert, you wouldn't confuse entertainment and intrigue with misinformed political tripe. What a waste of money.
Van Lustbader just isn’t the story teller that Ludlum was. I wanted to get to the end of the book to see what happened. I could have saved some time by listening to the first 30 min and then the last 20 min and got the full story. Ludlum made you want to hear the full story. Not the case with Van Lustbader.
This book is always moving. There is plenty of action for anyone who loves action. The Bourne Deception was a real "page turner" for me. The only problem was the ending... as the story wraps up there were too many loose ends. I like sequels as long as they are good. Unfortunately I feel to continue this story line beyond two novels will be too much.
