I love a good mystery and this series is great - could do without all the graphic sex - can't listen to it when anyone else is in the car with me - but it is a good series. The characters are interesting, the narrator is excellent, and the relationship between Roarke and Eve is evolving slowly. I forget that it is a futuristic novel but that makes it more involving.
Eve and Rook are getting too predictable. Yes, the plot is always a good, solid one. Yes, the characters are human and flaws, but geez, this Rook and his omnipotent ability to be soooo understand and soooo wise is getting old fast.
Love this series. Narrator is pretty good. Would still like to hear male and female narrators for the masculine vs feminine voices.
I read the first in the series and was frustrated by a number of things, particularly, Eve, who seems to be a psychopath and I wondered how she ever became a cop, would she pass a psych exam?
Everybody rated this series so high, I had to try another book.
She loosened up considerably in this book and wasn't such a bit#h. The story was good and enjoyable.
I will read more.
I couldn't wait to start book # 2, I enjoyed every miniute of it. The story keep me sitting on the edge of my chair just reeling me in to listen more. I can't wait to start on book #3. I'm hooked!
I am a retired Court Reporter and I LOVE books. All kinds of books but my favorites are mysteries and period books. I like civil war books and some biographies.
I am loving this series. I've listened to two of them in the last three days.
