I am in love with all characters including Rollo. The account of the warfare is realistic. The dangling storyline keeps you on your toes and ready for the next book.
Loved it! I was shocked into disbelief at the reports of Jamie's return voyage from Scotland and shaking in my shoes at the reappearance of Arch Bugg. Once again, Davina Porter was masterful in her narration. Can' wait to hear the next book, yet so dread the end of the series; the most entertaining I think I've ever experienced.
Davina Porter's performance does not disappoint...captures the voices of each character just as she has with each previous book in the series. I alter between reading the novels and listening...each character's voice echoes in my ears. Delightful.
This is the best series I have ever read. Phenomenal narration. This endless story crosses all genres and captivates the reader.
I know I can't go into much detail as I don't want to give away any spoilers. However I must say this is one of my favorites in the series. A definite must read to any true fans of the series.
This novel and its predecessors have been my companions through miles of travel, more than one sleepless night, several knitted projects, and a considerable number of menial tasks. The story of the Frasers, MacKenzies, and their families has captivated my heart and imagination. Thanks to the author's talent at painting with words on the page and the narrator's talent at painting with words spoken aloud, I am enchanted and hopelessly lost in this world. This particular novel is one of the best in the series, as difficult to part with as the first was. I am rushing to the next one like Claire into Jamie's arms.
