This is one of my absolute favorite books on health and wellness. a fascinating look at how marketing, packaging and environment impact our eating habits. I can't recommend it highly enough.
As a true foodie and nutritional researcher, this book was invaluable. Brian Wansink has an amazing imagination for researching how people eat and more importantly, why. He describes the experiments with humorous detail, and makes research readable and understandable. This is critical info for those of us who are trying to improve our health and be conscious of our eating habits and patterns.
Doesnt make big promises about results byt gives a very reasoned (and scientifically researched) basis. More importantly it gives an explanation of what really drives our behaviour which I consider to be useful even beyond weight loss
I am a yo-yo dieter. I enjoyed this book because for the first time ever, I feel like I have found a practical guide to not a diet, but a life change. I look forward to putting the things I've learned into action.
This book surprised me of all the things that cause us to overeat. Some of the reasons are so ridiculous that I wanted to smack myself - I mean they are THAT true. Delightful read, however its a bit dated as to the badgering of fats is so passe, nowadays, but that aside, you will learn a few things about yourself, and how to trick yourself out of mindless eating!
I liked the topic in the book and found the research that was presented to be interesting. My only complaint was toward the end of the book, you could guess with reasonable accuracy what the next study was going to show. Part of the book seemed repetitive.
This book has led me to change a few eating habits - but I don't think will cause a lifestyle revolution for me.

Yes, because it is very light content and the information was more like storytelling.
I love the way how can we engineer our environment so that we can eat less. The book describes every chapter couple of engineering techniques that helps to re-shape the surrounding environment to eat better.
The voice of the book was about the author talking to the readers about his findings and how did he researched this topic.
I loved the findings of how much people are oblivious about their eating habits. like the when the bones was cleaned regularly, people would eat more and expect they eat the same. Also, sharing food with people will affect how much people will eat.
This is an amazing book and I wish if the author can continue publishing books in the same area.
I loved the endless examples of research studies the author used to learn about eating patterns and habits. And trust me, I'm NO researcher. I learned volumes about my own eating patterns and why I so easily put on weight. Importantly, I've also learned how to take it off too. Just being aware of the tricks and traps has made me a more mindful eater.
I liked the way the author described why and how they looked at the many aspects of eating. From the introduction right to the last word I was thoroughly mesmerized by the creativity and ingenuity of the author and his team of researchers.
The narrator was amazing. He could probably read the phone book and make it interesting. Very easy on the ears.
I have recommended this book to 2 friends already. Additionally, I work in heath care and have used some of the lessons learned from the book in the clinic setting
The book was logically written, easy to follow, and full of great advice that can easily be put into place to make immediate changes in your life. I felt quite inspired.
It is an easy listen, that kept up it's pace, and was packed full of info. Good read.
