The sequel is as good as the first book, which is a rarity. LOVED IT!! So glad they have made a TV series out if it and I sure hope they complete all 8 books.
Not wanting to ruin the plot, I will just say this: This book was like a journey and a warm companion. It took me on highs and lows and everywhere in between.. Extremely well-written, it's one of those books that makes you sit up a little straighter and desire to live a little more fully. It's a worthy read,.. and something you never quite forget.
Thank you, Diana Gabaldon
Loved the reader and this consistency and relationship with chars tar building. The Story is so in depth I can say I learns history , though wars and battles are not my favorite part of the book. Sometime this part seemed to much but it always led towards feelings and mood that would follow. Looking now to get the next in the series.

I think I might just listen to the audiobooks than reading the books because I felt like I was watching everything as the narrator was telling me to story. Every scene was so freaking vivid in my mind that it was surreal!
The same narrator as the last, I had absolutely no regrets about the hefty $$$ I slapped down for this one. well worth it. I can't wait to read the final book, though I do intend to read it - I may audio book it as well.
I love the characters in this story! The reader is fantastic! I know who she is talking about by her unique voice for each character! I can't get enough!
I have read most of this series of books (the big ones) but have never finished, as the newer ones came out years after I had read the last. Now I'm re-reading in preparation to finish the series (or at least to catch up) Ms. porter does an incredible job with catching all the different languages, Gaelic, English, and French and inflicting each character so perfectly it's hard to believe there is only one person reading.
