I downloaded this to take on vacation because it sounded funny and I liked the voice of the reader. It was so much fun to listen to. It made the flights fly by.
I found this book very entertaining. Queen Betsy is a girl with attitude! I Loved it! I can't wait to listen to the rest of this series!
Very intertaining! The narrator can be a bit high pitched at times but soon you realize that is just how the character would be. If fun and light is what you're looking for this is for you.
Well, this is the funniest book I have listened to in a while. It is laugh out loud funny. Betsy is the first vampire with excellent taste in shoes, and even dead, comes to get them back from her step-monster. Breaks every vampire rule out there. Ann Rice, move over!
If you would enjoy seeing how a self absorbed Valley Girl would react to becoming a vampire this book is for you. It's definately light reading. The reader for this book in my opinion did an excellent job changing her voice to the charactors and situations.
This book could have become the same old tired stuff of its genre, but its not. It is quick, lively and really, really funny. It will be worth your time, if you have a slightly skewed sense of humor.
It took more than two hours of listening to get to any real humor in this book and by then I was ready to stick a stake in my own heart! But it redeemed itself and became an enjoyable read. The narrator was so boring I almost couldn't stand it, but I needed something not very distracting to listen to, so this did it.
I expected this book to be exactly what it was - a fun and light read. And I believe it was that. What caused me to give it the 2 star rating was the Narrator, Nancy Wu. I loved the main character of the series for her smart mouth, sassy sense of humor. But, that being said, I think I could have laughed more had the narrator been different. Nancy Wu is overly dramatic when delivering the lines of this story, which for me, took away from the humor. I'm positive if the narrator was different, or I read the actual book, I could have found the humor for what it was meant to be; tongue and cheek funny. I did listen to the brief sample before purchasing, but unfortunately I didn't get enough insight into just how horrible listening to Nancy's voice and portrayal of the character would be when listening to her for more than 30 minutes. I actually had to go back 4 times to get through the whole story because after a good two hours of her voice, I found I could not listen anymore. If you are looking for a fun read, this is the story. If you are looking for listening enjoyment, I don't recommend this narrator.
