I stopped listening after the story lingered on the moment when the time traveling woman was pinned down by a man from ancient times who looked like her husband from her own time. A significant element of this book appears to be intended to stir something in women but how this silliness works for them is beyond me.
What a great idea for a story, but the plot moves so slow!! 3 consecutive chapters of pillow talk! Shoot me, please!
Great job with the voices of each character! The accents were the highlite
I dreaded returning to the book and at times skipped5 pages or more to hurry it along.
Thank goodness for audio books. I can cook, clean, and drive and still "read".
Davina Porter was good. Diana Gabaldon, only in a desperate situation.
Not anything from the Outlander series.
Seriously? It was a romance book...what do you think?
I like a good romance book now and then, but at times this book got a little too graphic for me. The story line was okay, but I honestly don't understand why it gets such rave reviews.
I'm an author that loves to read. I love thrillers and Scifi. Have lived in Europe and the Marshall Islands. I have 12 Great Grand Children.
Characters and plot
Jamie, because he is so honest, humble and endearing to all he comes in contact with.
All of it
When Jamie found out why he was constantly being harrassed and beaten and imprisoned by the English.
A book I will Reccomend to other as a great read.
Been a lifelong snob. Only read nonfiction and would never be caught dead reading (gasp) a ROMANCE.novel. Well ladies (and gentlemen) this is the beginning of a book series that revolves around a beautiful romance set in a rich historical backdrop. The characters are incredibly well developed and human.
The only negative..it sets the bar high. So hard to find a comparable series while you're waiting for further adventures of Jamie and Claire.
I have no idea how many hours I have tied up in listening to this series but I catch myself wondering what the characters are doing when I'm at work, I stay in my car in my driveway almost every night for 15 or 20 minutes, it aggravates me to have to pause it to answer the phone or go through the drive-thru and don't even think of my letting anyone ride in my car with me!!! My family knows this as "My Best Friends" book. I can't say enough about it...humor, integrity, honor, sexy, intelligent, history, education, battle, witty and most of all love and faith. It has all the food groups. 5 stars, 2 thumbs way up and honestly, you are crazy to pass up this series. The author is amazing and the narrator...well, she hits it out of the park.
The History, Language, Descriptive,Adventures Wondering what Jamie and Claire next adventure and rescue.
Jamie and Claire
Just great Listening!
I could not stop listening. Wonderful! Writer makes you believe you are there. I could not stop listening!

Claire- she bring the character to life in front of you you feel like your right there
Claire Randall is leading a double life. She has a husband in one century, and a lover in another...
In 1945, Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon--when she innocently touches a boulder in one of the ancient stone circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach—an "outlander"—in a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of our Lord...1743.
Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire's destiny in soon inextricably intertwined with Clan MacKenzie and the forbidden Castle Leoch. She is catapulted without warning into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life ...and shatter her heart. For here, James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, shows her a passion so fierce and a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire...and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
Yes - and I have, several times.
When Jamie tells Claire the main reason why he married her when they're at his home in the Highlands.
I've listened to her perform all of Gabaldon's books in this series, but I have not heard her read another series.
Not any one particular moment, but a collection of all the times both Jamie and Claire go above and beyond to be there for each other and to protect one another.
