I know this is a prequel. I picked it up to see if I was interested in the rest of the stories. its short and hour and half. It started out with my interest almost right away. But then I lost interest as it took the entire hour and half to remotely get around to what may or may not be going on. I started to regain interest in the last 10 minutes or so. So now I am struggling with I am interested enough to try the first book. I am honestly afraid it will take the entire book to explain what is going on with the girl, the reasons for the screaming and I am not a fan of wasted words. But at the same time the concept is very intriguing. If you are considering the series, I would almost say grab the first book and give that a try over this one.
I couldn't keep my attention on what was going on and lost interest just part way into the book.
yes i would because it is a unique and really good series
the moment when lydia took her pain/scream away so kaylee could go free
she brings out the characters in the story really well
im sooo glad this prequel book was free because after i listened to it i went and got all of them
I like to read a mixture of non-fiction (nutrition and memoirs) and fantasy. I use audible for more exciting and lighthearted reads as I still prefer to read a hard copy book (and can't stand ebooks for some reason). At any given time, I'm usually reading 3 or more books.
I downloaded this because it was free, and it's in the genre I like to escape to - teen fantasy. It's basically a preview of an entire series, which is a good way to see if you would want to purchase the first book in the series. I found the descriptions intriguing and the storyline different than any I've read before, so it was worth it. I will probably check out the series at some point in the future.
This prequel to the Soul Screamers series was offered as a free audiobook. I'd never read anything by Rachel Vincent so I thought I'd check out the free version before I spend money on the series. I'm so glad I did. I devoured this audiobook in about 24 hours (pesky work got in the way) then went on to buy the first book in the series. I'm two thirds of the way through that one and can't wait to finish it tonight. Definitely a series I would recommend to anyone that enjoys urban fantasy.
I listened to this prequel and the beginning seemed to be a little slow going, but after they built up te story I was interested in the character and found myself wondering why these things were happening to her and how it was all going to unfold.
If they could've gotten to the point faster. I can sum up in one sentence what the first 40 minutes of this audio says. Some teenager suffers from a mental breakdown screaming fit in the mall and then gets locked up in a mental institution and then has issues coping with her environment because she thinks she's fine. Snore!
No, I like the narrator and the genre so I'm glad this book was free because it sucked.
I like the narrator because I've heard some of the other books she performed. She's witty and has a teenager's voice but I didn't like this particular story.
The story just stops but it isn't completed
It had the beginnings of a story but the story isn't completed
I like to read VERY much .. I'm obsessed with reading I don't have time to actually read a book so I've been a listener for three years now
hmmm, maybe it is a good book because it's a prequel to the series because nothing really happened in it , hope the series is good
I don't know until I read the series
no .. but her narration is too slow and a bit annoying
I still don't know until I complete the series
nice prequel thank you audible for providing it for free :)
