I enjoy a good mystery but this was more romance than anything else. The last chapters were all about the heroine's love life with the bad guys caught and dismissed without much fanfare.
I love Linda Howard books and this is one of my favorites. The narration was excellent. For once, even better than reading it myself. I could "see" the characters in my mind so clearly during the reading. The emotions were conveyed so well, I wept.
Other reviewers hype the character development in this story. I'm sorry to say that the character development was rushed and fairly unrealistic for the most part. As was the story itself. The writing seemed uneven.
Sure. She's a fun read and I've enjoyed most of her books in the past. Best one was After the Night.
The narrator seemed to over enunciate every word to the point that she sounded robotic and lacked any emotion. It wasn't until close to the end of the story that she seemed to sound more relaxed and in tune with the story.
To be honest; I thought about skipping the rest of the book. I just wasn't invested in these characters' lives. But I did want to find out if Milla found her lost son so I stuck with it.
This is listed under my husbands name but he never listens to audible books. I'm the one that does and my name is Vicki.
This book will keep you up at night after reading it. Milla Edge has made it her lifes quest to find stolen children after her own was stolen. Have a box of kleenex handy and maybe a bottle of tums while listening to this book.
I love a good listen while driving long distance or even walking. I live in a retirement beach community with my husband in Seal Beach,CA
Having someone bring this to life has been a very moving experience
She is beyond real
She is a true actress
Laugh and cry both
The depth of love this woman has and courage
Books books books
All of them I love Joyce
I did like this book buuutt.....it was so ridiculous how the assassin fell so immediately in love but I did like the book
Listen on people!
Could not wait to turn on the IPod & listen. Was afraid it might be too sad, but it wasn't. Good listen if you like Linda Howard books. ~Enjoy~
exciting, satisfying, sad
Cry No More has an amazing conclusion. It brings out such strong emotions, both happy and sad.
There are too many!
This book made me laugh and cry!
My boyfriend is not going to read this book so I told him the storyline, from beginning to end. There were three times when I got choked up and struggled to tell him the story. When I told him the end I really started crying! Love it when that happens!! These were good tears...
I'm going from chapter to chapter in life. Some are definitely better than others!
The story was okay but the author certainly had to stretch a point or two, or more, to make it work. Even then several elements of the story just didn't make sense.
The narration was fine.
I did complete the book, though the plot became tiresome at times. Mostly I wanted to see if I was correct about the "who done it", and I was. The sex was a little raunchy and I had to make sure no one else was within hearing that might be offended.
