"Good but Fair and Tender Ladies was better imo"
I liked this story but was a bit disappointed because I adored Fair and Tender Ladies. Lee Smith is a great Southen writer though.
Narration was fine.
Overall, I enjoyed it.
"Throughly enjoyable"
This was one of the best recordings I've listened to so far on audible. The actors contributed not distracted from the story. I'm glad I listened to the book rather than reading it for the first time. It's an engaging story that will draw you in and make you want to get back to it to find out what happens next.
"NOW THIS IS A NOVEL!"
On Agate Hill keep me connected emotionally to the characters.
I loved Spence for his genuine human spirit. He loved his friends and family no matter what they looked like.
Black Jack was may favorite narration. His narration gave the right amount of darkness to Black Jack's character. A loving darkness if there is such a thing.
Spence being murdered was one of the most emotionally parts of the movie. I could have cried right along with Molly.
Loved it!
"Why audio books are special"
This is a great word illustrated story. Believable, rich in characters and not the usual progression of telling a long life story. Wonderful use of music, making this a worthy best of Audible award in my opinion.
