Z.A. I love how you have merged Romero style shamblers with 28 days later Infected, brilliant. I can't wait to read book three: Suvivors hurry. Also i fully expect at least two more books from other survior's p.o.v., and maybe set a few years later. Thanks a ton Recht, and to the rest of you, buy this book.
It was easy to get into the story and the characters and was looking forward to the next chapter in the series, but the author passed away unexpectantly a tragedy for all his fans and especially his family
This book is a well rounded and properly narrated story about the zombie apocalypse. I am an avid zombie fan and this is one of the best series' of books I have ever listened to.
A good continuation of a very good series. The narrator does a great job keeping pace and bringing the characters to life.
I don't give spoilers
How I love the Zombie Apocalypse. This is one of my top 10 series in the genre. If not all but most Zombie books are roughly the same. And many reviews on here will mislead you with words like (brings nothing new to the genre or unoriginal story line) which in turn pisses me off. There books about Zombies!!! If you change much more then Speed of the zombies or how they came about then there not ZOMBIES anymore. Alright that said Book 1&2 are great full marks If your a fellow zombie lover it's a must have. Book 3 was a little disappointing but considering Recht died before finishing his series, I has grateful to have the series completed.
This second installment carries forwarrd the story from Book 1 with a solid plot and performances. We see some foreshadowing of how it will all come to a climax. Overall a very good listen for Zombie / Post-Apocalypse fiction fans.
It's the third book where things start to unravel...
The story, it is awesome and so well written.
The characters are all interesting and you all get to know them.
At this time none but I al new to books
Yes Book 1 of The Morningstar Strain
The "ending" of the book
Can't wait to start the final chapter!
Yes I would listen to this book again. It is novel with such depth and detail that listening to this book again, as I already have, always brings something I didn't notice the first time through. The character detail and quality of writing makes me feel as though I am physically there in the book with the characters seeing what they saw and experiencing with them. It better than watching a movie when you have a book this good. I mean people will rewatch the same movies even when its a movie they don't even really like, but this book is fantastic why wouldn't anyone want to listen to it again?
I really did want to listen to this book all in one sitting, but I could not manage that with work and sleep. But I came very close I was through this book in a few short days listening any time that I could.
Fantastic book, I highly would advise this series to anyone interested.
The audio books I get tend to be either 1) scifi or 2) things for my husband and me to listen to on long road trips--humor or history
This second book of the Morningstar trilogy suffered from middle-itis. The investment I felt in the characters from Book 1 carried me through, but I thought this book was just treading zombies . . . Very military, lots of shooting and blowing things up. Even the conflicts between the surviving non-infected humans were solved with guns. Just once I was hoping someone would try to talk their way out of a bad situation instead of shooting first, asking questions later. What saved the book from being completely tedious was the stellar narration by Oliver Wyman.
