I'm a huge Jack Reacher fan. And Dick Hill is a great narrator. Great escapism reading and Lee Child's writing does keep you very interested so you don't want to miss a word. It's action packed although Jack is a little violent. So if violence isn't our thing, this probably isn't the book for you. The bad guys are very violent. Jack only does what is necessary.
Jack Reacher is a big man - Tom Cruise isn't the picture of him I ever had in my head and all through listening to this, he still wasn't. I like Mark Valley - Harry's Law, Christopher Chance. But that's neither here nor there.
Jack Reacher is so smart and so skilled. I love how he is homeless, survives on his wits, hitchhikes, prefers buses. He's attracted to some of the female characters but not much sex, just enough to keep him going. He's a very interesting guy. Learn something new about him in every book.
I am a Lee Child/Jack Reacher fan, but this one was not the best. The characters were a bit lackluster, and the story tended to wander. Lee Childs' knowledge of the details that lead to the solution of a complicated set-up are impressive, and, as in all the books, they make me wonder how many incompetent law professionals, like the ones that Reacher shows up every time, actually exist. I will not be deterred from continuing with the Reacher series. And as long as Dick Hill continues to narrate and be the voice of Jack Reacher, the stories will stay interesting enough for me to continue listening.
As always Lee Child delivers! Never a disappointing read. However, I'm amazed that someone thinks Tom Cruise can pull off the Jack Reached role in the upcoming movie.
I love Jack Reacher novels. This one had enough ins and outs to keep hooked to this book. Great read.
Jack Reacher's character only gets better with age, like a fine wine. The story grabs you right from the start and doesn't let go. A real page turner or in this case, I don't want to stop listening.
Reacher Does Thing
Jack's character and his response to situations fulfills many reader's wants, wishes and desires.
If Lee Child has written it and Dick Hill has narrated same, I have listened to it. Dick's performance, like Lee Child's Reacher, is predictable. He is a very good narrator and is at his best when doing Reacher.
As in all the Jack Reacher books, the plot is well thought out and never fails to deliver a unique ending.
Reacher's assault on the fortified house of villains.
Always excellent. Dick Hill is Jack Reacher.
It's the combination of pace, plot, and characters throughout the story that keep you tuned in.
Bravo Lee Child, Bravo Dick Hill, Bravo Jack Reacher!
The writing and narration is excellent.
I really enjoy the depth of each character, and the history that is tied in with each character and their personality.
Dick Hill is an excellent performer. It is amazing how he gives each character in the story a "voice" and he maintains that "voice" consistently throughout the book. It makes the story easy to follow and listen to.
No, it's too long, but it was hard to turn it off!
This is my 10th Jack Reacher book, and about the 5th to listen to. I thoroughly enjoy listening to Dick Hill's reading and will look for more performances by him.
The Jack Reacher series is always great to listen to on my long drives to work.
So far I haven't met a Jack Reacher plot I didn't like. :-)
Dick Hill is a great narrator for this series. He makes the character come to life. I like listening to him in other books as well.
