The synopsis sounded good and the reviews tipped me into getting this story. But I found myself thinking "C'mon...something needs to happen."
I felt like the scenes went on far too long than they needed to be. My mind would drift off because of the overly lengthy descriptions that just seemed to go on and on. I had to rewind to find out what the heck I missed. Usually it was nothing.
I really had high hopes for this story. But I think the author was just filling pages. More than once I thought "OK, OK...I know what you're thinking...move on..."
I don't know if it was the narration or just the overall story line, but I connect at all with the characters.
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
Although the men in this book have a caveman mentality, the story will suck you in. But since they are suppose to have been around awhile, that is to be expected. There are many bad reviews about the narrator, which is surprising to me because I enjoyed listening to him. My day at work went by fast while listening that is a measure of how good audios are to me. Also good by Gena Showalter is Catch a Mate the book is hilarious although I have not listen to it yet, only read it.
The narrator reads at such a slow pace. It is agonizing to listen to. Hurry up already!!! I couldn't get through the book because it dragged on and on. The story seemed like it would be interesting but i couldn't finish the book. I will have to buy the paperback and read it for myself.
In paperback form only.
Anyone who can read at a faster pace.
Say something about yourself!
I read this book based on others reviews and I was not disappointed. It's great. The narrator does a wonderful job. The voices she uses are good. Her accent is good. The emotion she puts behind the words is believable and real sounding. I'm very happy with it and can't wait to buy the next one in the series.
how the "Angels" fight their demons, and don't always win..
that they all are HOT and SEXY, great story too :)
the feeling and excitement of the whole story, the first part i almost shut it off, but i continued to listen and was very happy i did, once you got past the back ground in the first part of the story it was really a great story and i have the rest of the books lined up to listen too
I can't understand why this book has so many good ratings. This book is a total bore. The plot is about is this man that sleeps with and disrespects many woman, until his life changes when "the one" comes along. Ok I have to admit I am a sucker for those types of romance books. However, this one is not at all beautiful or eloquent. It keeps going and going and Zzzzz. I couldn't stay awake. I got to the point where I didn't care about the characters didn't know where the story was going and could not bear another minute. I will be taking this one back. Please listen to the sample before you purchase because I didn't care for the narrator. He was not very emotional when emotions were needed ...to put it bluntly, he couldn't act. He was the final ingredient that lead to my somnolence.
This book has what every girl secretly dreams of even if she doesn???t know it. The reason girls go for the bad boy is because they want to be the one that he loves so much that he can???t help but change his ways for her. That is what you get with this book. Maddox is not only a hardened warrior with a heart of stone but is also holding the demon of violence inside of him. Showalter leads you through the struggle he and Ashlyn must overcome to not only find love but happiness.
I like how strong the male characters are because that protective domineering thing is truly hot but Showalter evens the playing field too. Sometimes it gets to be a little too much ???Me Tarzan, You Jane.??? in these kind of books but the women hold their own ground. They make contributions to solving both the internal and external conflicts of the story.
I really liked this book and have gotten a little addicted to the series. If you like supernatural romance with hot guys, sex, and violence this is the book for you.
Not waisted time, but I wasn't dying to get back to it. Pretty much finished it because I'd paid for it.
Not really into Bellmore's reading style - He has a nice voice but too many long pauses in the middle of thoughts and sentences. The dialog sounded fake and read, not spoken. Intonation all wrong in most cases. The cadence overall was abnormally slow.
I may give one more book in the series a try, but not in audio as the narrator just doesn't quite do it for me
Harlequin Romance lovers will love this book where every sentence is full of women trembling at the sight of men they dont know exclaiming
The endless stupid trembling prose.... I am sure this is true to the genre. I didnt know it was a Harlequin romance so it make me want to puke. I tried to wade thru a few hours to get to the story but I couldnt do it.
What a ridiculous portrayal of interaction between men and women. Does anyone really believe and enjoy this trash??
I WISH I could get my credit back. Lesson learned. Check the publisher.
