Carolyn Myss' informative content and clear audio recording make this a must have for anyone curious about spirituality, human behavior, mythology, self development or wellness.
Have listened several times over
All of it.
Here's my personal perception on Caroline Myss' books in general :Before breast cancer diagnosis: arrogant, offensive, demeaning, derogatory, negative, non inspiring, etc. after breast cancer diagnosis: grounding, enchanting even, so passionate, sincere, well studied, insightful, great teacher, motivating, giving me hope, showing the way and loving her, just as is, a one of a kind teacher who "walks the walk" and shares how she does just that after doing her research. I admire her own stamina and grateful she was recommended to me with a single book. Now I've read many. Head bow.
Discovery of the basics of every human being - part one.
Books put in order (by author) to be read as teachings, each one.
It exceeded my expectations. Ms Myss's generosity in sharing about her own experiences made her presentations memorable. She was outstanding.
Although this is an older lecture, the Truth is always where you find it. Take with you that which resonates. Leave behind the rest. Thank you, Caroline Myss.
Had this on cassette and now really pleased to be able to access from my iPad. This is the single best book connecting emotions to health and quality of life. This book will change you if you let it.
In general, I'm a cynic of self-help books. Dr. Myss was recommended by a trusted advisor. Immediately, I was enthralled by her delivery style and the obvious emotional connection and commitment to the lecture subject. The message resonated in a way that has made a profound change in my view of myself and life. I am so thankful to have pushed myself to try this lecture.
Amazing, empowering, and life-altering information, and perspective. Important to listen and learn with discernment as the elements of the reality that evil powers are also at work in the unseen realms of our reality is completely overlooked and attributed to our own power of choice. There in lies, however, the evil destructive lies we chose to embrace. Thus influencing our energy (positive, negative, indifferent), and even our health.
As a Christian and degree in Biblical Studies, Carolyn Myss, communicates truths mixed with contradictions to religions in general. It's wise to educate ones self in the many ideologies and religious beliefs in the world we live. My only caution would be that readers be very grounded when venturing into the studies of humanism, new age, etc. Having said that, there's insights that for me, revealed weaknesses in the modern day culture of Christianity, not that Christ ever changed, but we as a people need to rise up and be the representatives of Christ that accurately portray Him which is part of the victorious life we've been called to live, i.e. Peace that surpasses understanding in both the good and bad, forgiveness, gratitude, the fruits of the Spirit, pursuing characteristics of the greatest gift, which is Love.
While I found this an interesting listen, the more I went on, the more I found Myss to be less open-minded than one might expect of a person portraying herself as a guru. I particularly found her prejudices against body modification (in the less than drastic form of piercings) and against therapy to be dissuasive. I also felt that there were some contradictions in her preaching. That said, I listened through the whole thing and tried to remain open minded, and still gained some interesting thoughts and insights from the whole thing. Might be useful if you are interested in looking at your personal relationships in a different manner or deconstructing your own actions and thought process for introspection and insight.
Not necessarily. I'm hoping to eventually find a more relevant book as to what I'm looking for, but this wasn't all a bad read. It just wasn't what I was hoping for.
This reading was taken from a workshop (though she is the only one who speaks), and I do think that format helped it, as she has down her emphasis and you definitely get the feeling from this that she is speaking directly to people present with her, not to a microphone. Which is very appropriate to the subject matter. I also feel that having the author's voice gives you a more authentic understanding of how she feels about what she is saying on topics, and in some cases this does serve to demonstrate a negative attitude.
