David Rosenfelt does it again. The Andy Carpenter character is hilarious.
The whole series is fantastic. I can't wait for number 10.
He's the reason the audio book is so enjoyable. Next to Lorelie King, he's the best narrator I've listened to.
entertaining, funny, enjoyable
Andy's description of all the people at his house eating him out of house and home had me chuckling off and on all day. Andy's view of the world is rather off center, and very funny.
His voice is perfect for this. I had just finished listening to Stephen King's 11-22-63, and it took me a few minutes to get used to the sound of his voice...to me he sounds a little like Billy Crystal. He is clear, easy to understand, and her reads Andy's thoughts with a it of dry wit and it works perfectly.
No because I don't like to re read books. There are too many I haven't read.
When Laura was shot.
I particularly like the way this author writes the main character. He seems like someone I would like to know.
sports announcer, cyclist, enjoys to travel and the outdoors.
its not the dan brown and the Da Vinci Code, its easy enjoyable listening. This is the 3rd Andy Carpenter book and I like them.
David Rosenfelt is a good writer, and his stories are just perfectly balanced between intense drama and light comedy. His knowledge of dogs is obvious as seen in his writing. I enjoyed listening to the narrator of "New Tricks". His voice is perfect for emulating the persona of a middle-aged man from New Jersey. I found "New Tricks" to be good entertainment for driving around and doing my errands.
In the middle of this story I looked up Bernese Mountian Dogs to see and read more about the breed. This unchallenging story is entertaining. It is not going to leave you with any great message or thoughts just almost 8 hours of story telling. And that is worth something so just relax and enjoy it!
All of David Rosenfelt's books have been enjoyabe to me and I have listened to most of them. Grover Gardner narrates the characters distinctly and with all the nuances I am sure Rosenfelt intended to have for them. The pair are a great match. As much as I highly reccomend any of them, this is not the best. But it is still worth the credit and time. The character development is easy to follow (some from previous books and others are new) and the story does keep you guessing. Enjoy.
This book is part of a series. Excellent story, good listening and good narration. I highly recommend this book along with the others.
