Yes - knowing the twisting storyline I could now concentrate more one the descriptive elements which are very well done.
couldn't say, it's quite unique as far as I know
In my top 10.
Sandra Brown has written several books with this theme. I can't remember titles off the top of my head. Even with the same theme her books are never boring with all of the twists and turns.
He has a great voice and is an excellent performer.
The story line kept my attention. It is a real page turner. LOL
This is one audiobook I wish I also had the hard copy of. It is SO good that I don't want to stop reading it, whether audio or visual. When it started, I was a little bored, but all that goes out the window in about a half an hour or so of listening to this book. From then on, you want to know how it all turns out!!
Listening to books is very liberating for me. I am free to work with my hands while "reading" a book. Total relaxation.
Time well spent. Good escapist holiday read.
Everyone loves a satisfying plot about revenge.
Dick Hill doesn't do a female voice well. Jade, the main female character, sounded decidedly jaded.
I feel that the rape scenes were well written in that they were deeply disturbing and moving. The sex scenes were not as good. They were shallow and less authentic in comparison. The story became a little silly at at the end. For goodness sake, how on earth would anyone ever demand that a 14 year old boy donate a kidney to an old dying rapist. The author should have made it rather bone marrow. Would have been less ridiculous.
The first book of Sandra Brown's that I read was "Envy". "Breath of Scandal" was a bit of an anticlimax after that. I would definitely read more of her books though.
I thought the villains were, for the most part, more credible than most that make it into contemporary literature. I've known people who might have been these very ones.
Dick Hill has the ability to bring any character to life, and he seems to do so with every book he narrates. As a matter of fact, his narration is truly a performance, unlike most other narrators' best efforts.
I would rather have read this one. I did not enjoy the way it was performed.
It took very long but I suppose in the end justice was served.
I'm not sure but Dick Hill did a terrible job. He cannot read a woman's voice without making her sound weak and stupid. That was not appropriate in this book. It was really annoying.
Did not read the book only audio
The girl get revenge and how she fooled them all.
Excellent, Great voice
Good work on a great book. Recommend to all
I love Dick Hill's narration and even he could not save this book for me. I usually like Brown's books and I commend her for tackling a such a heavy subject as rape, but this was such a weird book and it wasn't just because a man was reading the rape scenes that made me queasy, although that didn't help. The whole book felt skeevy and I wish I could un-listen to this one.
Yes. This particular book didn't thrill me but I like the author.
I like Dick Hill's narrations and this one was on level with all the others I've listened to by him.
The characters are all there for a reason.
If you are an emotional person, you will experience quite a few of them with this book. It's a good listen with a bit of nail biting tension and a dash of revenge.
Yes, but it's definitely a
A different narrator that didn't
It kept my interest enough to want to return to it to see what would happen next and how it would unfold.
