Good story with no stone left unturned. Zellotry, faith, perserverance, rewards of hard work, tragedies, trust, secrets. A book with a good heart and believeable characters.

The story was good. Not a deep drama, but some realistic circumstances mixed with fanciful imagination.

I liked Aunt Batty. Despite her being presented as crazy, she added grounding to the story.

The voice of the reader was too cutsie & over dramatic. It was hard for me to connect with the real emotions the characters were working through. It felt very much like the reading one would hear during story hour for a children's book. Very distracting.
