Not even Lynn Austin's very best but still WONDERFUL. Awesome characters, very inspirational and amazing narrator.
I enjoyed listening to the different stories of the characters. They were all very interesting and each was so well developed!
Aunt Batty was my favorite character. Although she suffered a hard life, she was so full of God's love and kept spreading it to others.
She did very well with the reading. She made each character sound different and had a lot of expression and emotion in her reading.
Walter and Aunt Batty's love story! It brought tears to my eyes.
I highly recommend this book and this author! I have enjoyed all of her books so far.
Christian Wife and Mother
Another great book by Lynn Austin that mingles Biblical wisdom that has a fascinating story with well developed and believable characters.
This is an excellent story set during a difficult time in America. I would highly recommend this story to my friends and have done so already.
I loved Aunt Batty and her love of books the most. She is definitely the glue that holds this story together in my opinion.
She brings the characters to life, giving them each a distinct personality and identity
Oh yes, I didn't want to put it down, or turn it off in this case.
I will listen to this story again for sure!
Good story with no stone left unturned. Zellotry, faith, perserverance, rewards of hard work, tragedies, trust, secrets. A book with a good heart and believeable characters.
I'm not finished listening to this book but I'm so sick of the this bible, spirituality and Jesus stuff. I do want to finish listening but so sick of the preaching I could scream. I wish I could fast forward through.
Yes, I just love Lynn Austin's books. She really has a gift of drawing the reader in.
The story was good. Not a deep drama, but some realistic circumstances mixed with fanciful imagination.
I liked Aunt Batty. Despite her being presented as crazy, she added grounding to the story.
The voice of the reader was too cutsie & over dramatic. It was hard for me to connect with the real emotions the characters were working through. It felt very much like the reading one would hear during story hour for a children's book. Very distracting.
