I would like less love story and more investigation. The story line was not developed and very boring.
I truly enjoyed listening to this book!! I think of all the Alex Cross series that I have either read or listened to so far this one is by far my favorite!! The readers read with both passion and clarity! It made the listening totally enjoyable and I felt like I could "picture" what I was listening to. I highly recommend this one!
After "Honeymoon", this was a real disappointment. What happened to the separate male and female voices? The story is boring. The family court scenes are depressing and tedious. The horrible jazz music in the background...ugh!
Not bad, not great either. The basic plot is intriguing. Patterson gets "A" for imagination. However it is too lose and lacks suspense in too many places. A good portion of this book dives into too many aspects of Cross's personal life - which was distracting from the plot, and honestly, rather dull.
Narration is good with sound effects. It's the same guy who has read most of the other Cross books.
Overall, the book gets a passing grade - but you may decide to pass on it.
As with all other Alex Cross novels, this one was fast-paced and compelling. However, this novel has some very loose ends that are poorly woven together. Patterson can do (and has done) better.
This book in my opinion had way to much off subject detail. Parts were developed that in the end never had any resolution. Many mnay dead spots.
The plot was good but could have made a better book with 30 less chapters.
I am a James Patterson nut. I like anything he writes. I think this is the best Alex Cross story to date as it was fast paced and surprising, although I thought he left a few loose ends, and not loose ends leading into another story but not finishing this one. It will be interesting to see if Alex really retires and stays home with his family or goes back to the force in DC to stay close to home. I don't think James Patterson is ready for him to quit just yet.
I've read many of his books, but this was the first one I've listened too. I enjoyed the 3 different readers and the story moves along fairly well. Only boggs down in some parts. Overall I would recommened this to those who have enjoyed his work in the past.
