This is a good primer on the concept of mindfulness as a stress reduction tool. Is brief and concise enough to give you a basic understanding of what it is all about. You won't come away an expert or perhaps even at best, only a dabbler but it does a good enough job to make you want to learn more.

It takes time to take the content in. It takes time to practice. It helps to read again after a period of practice to retake it in. Then there is a turning point. I am feeling it and I hope it continues.
This book was very useful for me to manage chronic pain in a different way. Viewing pain in this manner has been more helpful to me than many medical treatments. I can also see how this method would help with stress, anxiety, insomnia and other chronic problems.
