This book has been a great learning experience for me. It has concisely and clearly put some very complex concepts in prospective, and tide them together. It has shown me how little we know, and how far science has to go. It is not for the novice, you need to have some background in Physics in order to follow it well and understand the dilemmas and contradictions he tries to point out.
I enjoyed the book thoroughly but I love physics and astronomy.
dark matter. cold fusion. homeopathic remedies. These and exactly 10 other topics are covered (although some of the 13 sounded like subparts of others). too scientifically detailed for me. hardly layman descriptions. i like my science from the likes of Bill Bryson. read with a haughty sounding british accent.
Good book interesting except for the part about people not having free will was a bit lame.
I have to say first that I really didn't give this book a fair chance. But, the main reason is because I found the book so boring that I couldn't pay attention long enough to really get anything worthwhile out of the book. My husband finds the subject interesting but agrees that the delivery is a bit dry. I would only recommend it if you are really into the topic of the book.
